How often/how much per gallon of 87 octane of the Lucas did you use?

4 oz .each tank . I am not a rep or anything but it is something cheap to try to see if you need the TSB done or not .
Edit , I am lucky here to be able to get 0E all the time in 87 or 91 . I get the 91 . and only use the Lucas when I can only get 10E gas out of town .

Thanks! I'm not the most knowledgeable on fuels. Did you ever try the 87 Octane Ethanol free? And if you have, did you ever see results with reduced engine chirping?

A guy that I work with has a ‘16. Mine is an ‘18. I run 93 octane. 16012 91 octane tune. I don’t seem to hear much of the pinging.

This has been my experience anyway. Makes merging on to the highway a little more dramatic than it needs to be. Goes 1-2-3/4-3-4-5-6 due to the need to press it harder again to get back to 3rd. Practically skips it only using it for a few seconds.

The fix is basically just to push much harder before it gets to 3rd and hold it or just keep pressing and it'll be more inclined to use it. I'd imagine it'll be fixed in the final since it's a known issue.

Still. I'll take it 10:1 over stock where I can't hold overdrive on the highway for anything. Only a good hill or high headwind makes it drop back to 4th going 70-80 now vs being in 4th 80% of the time.

I've only had my 17 OR for like 3 months and the transmission is driving me insane...including using the tune.
2.0 Beta is better than 1.05 & 1.05.1 with shifting points but it still rides in too high of a gear. It will shift into 5th gear going at like 35 MPH making the engine bog to 1100 RPM's! It will also upshift into too high of a gear every time I make a turn onto a street.
Anyone else getting these undesired shift points?

Got Techstream installed, and I believe I've got the files for TSB 62-18, which should be the one that updates the truck from 04A60 to 04A61. It came as a .zip though, and contained inside were two CUW files, T-0034-18 and T-0036-18. I got the .zip from the MT thread, so I'm wondering if these are correct for an AT, do I need both of them, and is there anything I need to do in between them since I can only flash one at a time?

EDIT: Also, do I need to flash the truck back to stock, update the ECU, and then reflash OVTune 2.0 Beta, or can I just install the TSB over top of 1.05 and then update to 2.0 Beta?

T-0036-18 is the one you use if I remember right.

I used to run that in my 2nd Gen all the time. I’ll have to give that a try.

you must be one of the luck ones if you have Final 2.0. Makes rest of us jealous ! Eventually....us '16-'17 and '18 AT owners will get to taste the fruit of 2.0 Final. Until then we can only imagine.

Flash over the top of it and then flash 2.0 Beta over the update. Remember to select the new ECU to reflect the update.

correct. Then you will be at current TSB baseline and you can flash 2.0 beta over that.

TS will not allow you to apply the incorrect .CUW file. Give it a shot, and it gets rejected, try the other.

Ran the 04B04 4.88 91 octane 2.0 19800 beta for some serious towing miles over the weekend. The 91 octane tunes are undeniably noticeably better. Average 13-14.5mpg towing 4000lbs (that’s 2-3mpg better than the Tundra wouldn’t probably do not tuned). I was very pleased with this setup. (255/75/17’s, 300lbs armor, bed full of gear and a trailer with full tanks - dry weight is 3500lbs and it has a pop out )

Happy Easter Everyone! Especially you Mat @OVTune

Thanks for the help guys! Successfully updated from 04A60 to 04A61 and installed OVTune 2.0 Beta. Haven't done much more than drive it around the block, but the truck starts and runs so I obviously didn't brick the ECU ahahah

The OLD fuel pump TSB is for the HPFP. I had mine fixed at least a year ago. It completely eliminated the chirping at idle, with any fuel. The new fuel pump TSB is for the in-tank low pressure fuel pump. I suggest getting the OLD fuel pump TSB completed. It's a $1,000 part.

Have you tried the 91 performance tune? It is set up to ride in a lower gear than stock, which makes it much nicer to cruise around in. Give it a shot, you'll love it.
