I think the deal is that you get to loan it to them at a zero percent interest rate and they agree not to tax you for it as payment lol. Idk how accurate that is though. For all I know they actually do tax it :annoyed:

Boring but my best guess below .

Bottom in , yes ( but I think we will see it again this year even just to fill the gap up in the charts on March 24 and if we do not get there , the gap on Apr 6th . so either SPX 2300 or 2525 ) I think this will happen if the country goes back to work too early and there is a second round of illness maybe even worse than the first . If it is worse then the bottom is not in .

    https://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=$SPX

Recession - yes , in it now .
Monday - up . good news on GILD drug (Remdesivir) , along with Covid-19 peaking in NY. This along with those that think the market is going down will not want to be caught with short positions if the banks are upbeat . The media is reporting a lot of scary things but I do not see that as the main thing for stock prices as the markets are said to price things 6 months in the future .

    https://www.investors.com/news/tech...-compassinate-use-test/?src=A00220&yptr=yahoo

    IMO
The agreement the Saudies and Russians made for pumping cuts was a joke . There is no where to put the oil that is already pumped and very low demand for at least a couple Quarters . Oil is going down and it is not good for the markets .

Banks start reporting earnings QT1 starting on Tues and Weds. . Depending on what they say on guidance and what they see coming up will be a great indicator of where we go from here . If you have never logged onto a earnings report conference call online do it for a bank or 2 this week such as WFC on Tues, or BAC,JPM, C or GS some of these are on Weds. . The questions and answers at the end are a big part of them and watch the stock price change as the meeting goes on , it is pretty telling .. They say one should be listening to these for every stock one owns anyway , they can be very boring but again the questions do not always come from a script .
I have said it before but this is the time companies will bring out all the skeletons in the closet and bad things they have done since 2009 ( the last big event)and blame it on this event , Covid-19 . Once this is out of their way , they can move higher with a free pass .

Edit - The weekend is young ! a lot can happen in the next day and 1/2 .

To always win at stocks you must download the robinhood app and always do the opposite of what they suggest and promote

honestly I take what Jim Cramer says and assume the opposite to be true. He’s not dumb but his advice to the every man isn’t what’s going to make people a plenty. Tinfoil hat? Maybe.

There was a study done about his Charitable Trust. It underperformed the S&P 500. Should have just bought SPY.

There’s one subset of people I do actually feel really bad for right now.

There’s a certain group of elderly folk who retire to cruise ships. The cost of cruises 4x/mo with food, laundry, etc. ends up costing about as much or less than a senior center or whatever else. Medical is on board if needed. Etc.

They were grounded with short notice and nowhere to go.

that said. I’m poised to buy more stock if it crashes Monday. I think even with the no sail since it’s only 90 days that won’t be a huge hit since they were already forecasting a bad quarter anyway.

I have heard of that, and didn’t even think about it. Good point, wonder what they are doing, that sucks!

You could just do the opposite of what I do and save the hassle of creating a Robinhood account. :p:D:oops:

I follow a couple of blogs of some older folks that do alot of cruising. hearing the chaotic nature of how they were disembarked in australia halfway through the world cruise was terrible. they do have a home base but it feels like they're on a ship more than home these days.

Reminds me of the old saying...

How do you make a small fortune day trading the stock market?

Begin with a large fortune... :D:D:D

I keep reading articles of so called experts saying we haven't hit bottom yet based on previous stock market data. They say the bottome should be somewhere between Jun and early Aug based on historical data if you want to believe those trends. But this situation is pretty unique and add the oil war to it and it was quickly exaggerated/accelerated. I'm sure we'll have another drop as people start to over analyze the data and people want to be the first to try and predict what will happen.

I think that last week we popped to quickly so we'll draw down again. Earnings reports will come out which the markets have already priced in a lot of losers on that so I'm not expecting anything major... Be curious to see what the long-term economic damage from all of this will be though.

And it's unique in the fact that it was purposeful AND EVERYTHING happens WAY WAY faster now. NO Way would have news traveled this fast 20 years ago, let alone 90 years.

NOT saying they will be wrong but the last 6-7 weeks have shown this to be true.

previous downturns have been for other reasons. This one is wholly unique. So previous data doesn’t mean much now. We’re in uncharted waters, not to make it sound dramatic, but this isn’t a normal downturn.

big part here is that a shitty future is already so factored in. It’s not a surprise, surprises and unknown elements are what shocks the market. Knowing now that delta will give crappy q2 forecasts and then they deliver a crappy q2 actual, no surprises!

I think right now we’re saying good riddance to a few dated companies. Game stop, there was a taxi company in Maine that shuttered, etc. I feel bad for those jobless because of it, but don’t feel bad that a dated business model doesn’t work and was on the edge anyway. Bye bye.

if this keeps going on, we’re going to see a deeper cut. I don’t want to see that happen, but it will be into good companies with good models that just couldn’t weather the storm. Then I do truly feel bad for.

if it sits long enough they'll do it automatically, at least that was the case with a citi card.

I mean I hate to sound like an idiot but why not just use the card until you’re net zero? Then again I put everything on cards and saddle up at the end of the month. Everything I buy gets rewards :p

It’s bout 4K worth ....my monthly expenditures are not that much so I’d rather have that in cash...especially with what we are going thru right now.

In that case, I'd call back again. And keep calling or doing the web chat until I got what I wanted.
