I just finished a suspension refresh on the front end of my Tacoma and am going to start the rear. Does anyone have any insight into whether or not I’m going to need to replace leaf pack pin on my Dakar’s when doing an add a leaf? Are the old ones likely to be to short? I don’t want to tear the rear suspension apart only to find I need new pins. Thanks!

Yo, I just did this install a few weeks ago and my AAL came with a longer center pin. I want to say I put the shorter one in just for shits and giggles and it barely poked out the other side.

The pin that comes with a new set of medium Dakars is a good 3/4" longer than it needs to be. I would bet they use the same pin for the heavy pack as its plenty long enough for another leaf.

For the price I'd still get a set, that way if one is seized you can cut it off with no worries.

Thanks for the quick responses. I figured I’d need new ones. I dug through the box of parts and no new pins included. I’ll be ordering them tomorrow.

Did you have to extend your brakelines as well? Currently running the mediums and am about to do an AAL since I have gone overboard with my overland build and have a ton of weight in the back lol.

No, I haven't needed to. I will though when I upgrade my brakes because I'll have everything torn apart anyway.
