Anyone know the oem stock number for the Aisin flywheel? The Luk flywheels are going for 50 bucks and must be horrible quality to be that cheap

I put in a like flywheel when I converted my truck. About 30k miles no issues. The price was about $50-60 at the time.

thinking about pulling the trigger on an SC for my 14' OR...learning a lot on this thread. wondering if it's cost effective to have a shop install or try my hand at installing it. Any advice?

If you're decent at turning a wrench the instructions and info available are great. It just takes a day or two depending on your pace and skill level.

Possible dumb question, and I know I'm running a different SC than what this thread is meant for, but is it normal for the engine to run a little hotter with a supercharger? Mine rarely got above 190 pre-SC even when hauling heavy loads. Now I see 190-194 on the highway, occasionally dipping below 190 on shorter/slower drives. I monitor temps with ultra gauge, and the temp needle on the dash never moves past the middle.

Sounds about right, 187-192 on highway. I have the stock thermostat. Under heavy load/towing it’d get up to 205-210 but that went away when I upgraded the radiator.

Like others on this thread would attest to, if you are good at turning a wrench and not worried about tearing into things on the top end, and have the tools required to do it (good wratchet/sockets, impact to remove crank bolt, air ratchet speeds things up but not required, various screw drivers, breaker bars, pb blaster, etc.) or willing to purchase tools, then go for it yourself...the amount you will learn in the process is priceless when it come to additional modifications and maintenance. It will save money in the long term if you are willing to take to plunge. I installed the Magnuson supercharger myself and flashed the ecu with the TRD tune myself with the mongoose cable and Toyota tech stream program. Have since used member on this forum for additional tuning with HP Tuners, highly recommended! Takes a solid 2 days by yourself from tear down to running for someone who hasn’t done it( as long as you have everything handy and don’t have to go to the auto parts store). Experienced Mechanic could do it in a day (long day).

Not a dumb question and supercharging definitely will add some heat depending on the setup. If you want additional piece of mind you can check out the csf racing radiator or I think afe is coming out with a larger radiator also for our trucks.

@Murphinator @henryp thanks. I figured the intercooler would've been enough. Glad I'm still in the right temp range at least, thanks!

You don't have to be a mechanical genius to do it, though some experience is desirable. It took a friend and me a weekend to install his, and I'm not sure either of us even qualifies as a shade-tree mechanic.

Review the directions, make sure you have (or can acquire/rent) the required tools. Set aside a weekend, and do it!

Nice! Don’t you have to take the clutch accumulator out regardless... Did you get the light weight steel or Fidanza?

I’m not the biggest fan of light weight fly wheels especially due to the rattle in the low RPMs

The accumulator and slave cylinder get removed completely. Already had my accumulator removed.

I did the urd lightweight. Read a few cases of the friction surfaces and/or bolts popping apart on fidenzas which would be shitty. Also, they are so light it sounds like driveability can be trickier. Interested in how the URD will drive and I also have a bunch of blingy pulleys to install. Probably gonna be equivalent to a fidenza anyways weight wise.

Here's where I routed my line to, eliminated all the intermediate fittings. Basically goes from the master cyl directly to the bearing. Secured it to the side of the transmission with some of the stock bolts from the accumulator.

The flywheel is P/N 13405-31081. If you want to buy a used one I have mine for sale, only 50k miles. Removed to install the URD heavy flywheel.

I remember xrunners complaining about rattling sounds in the low RPMs and idle with the lightweight steel.

It makes sense to take out all those sectional stock hard lines.
