I’m pretty happy with the ‘17. No TSS, bed cubbies, and the MT means I can only bitch at myself if it’s in the wrong gear.

2016s are a lemon? Wow, didn't know a lemon constituted minor annoyance of shift patterns.

To be fair, they're pretty fucking awesome. Still can't shit-talk my Tacoma though, loved the thing but it just wasn't for me.

Though you can get a lemon in anything, I don't think you can go too wrong with any model. There's just too many Happy Owners across all model years to suggest otherwise.

I read that article the other day. And while I wasn’t expecting to see the 2009 model listed, I mean, I get it. My factory radio does randomly go blank or change the volume on its own from time to time. Does that bother me, nope. I have a new radio ready to be installed anyway. I’ve also noticed my engine is a bit loud (the ticking noise), but after all the threads I’ve seen on here, I just assumed that was a normal Tacoma thing.

The truck has treated me very well for over 5 years now. So whoever wrote the article must have just been bored. I’m not as familiar with the 3rd gen modes, but I bet they had to dig deep to nitpick enough to justify that article anyway.

That were brought up to date, equal to current year with updates. My 2016 did have a CPS failure (re mediated) and the trans was not up to par (90% re mediated). I've been quite happy as the truck is what I thought I bought when I test drove it.

Perfection is expensive and as a result very difficult to find.

I've owned a 16 and an 18. Only difference between the two is the paint color and a couple of extra buttons on the dash.

    No complaints about either truck.

I have a 16 and the only issue's for me "Was" the shifting pretty much has been fixed with TSB+OVTune+4.88's. All of this would have been done regardless. The only other issue was the leaking 3rd brake light witch was replaced quickly by Toyota including the headliner. The 4.88's and OVTune has made the truck fun to drive again and i hope to add the OVTune Twin Turbo kit as soon as i can come up with an inter-cooler fix fitment issue. Couple other members have some ideas in the works. This will no doubt be so fun to drive CANT WAIT!

My automatic 2016 stays in a high gear longer than I care for after climbing a hill, but I just slap it into standard mode for a hot minute. Problem solved.

Anyone have a 16 with motor mount issues? I guess it was fixed for 17+ if it was a real deal at all.

2009 had a bad engine but the 2015 was good and the 06,7,8,10,11,12,13,14 were fine? All 4.0 liters. The later 4.0 with air pump I can see some not loving but I’d still be fine with it.. the entire article is awful and inconsistent.

Laughable article by cuck men who enjoy their woman’s tuna pie split by other more capable meat hatchets.
