    I have mods
    The old 4.0 L6 motors from Jeep were actually pretty damn good IMO. I had an old Commanche with one and an XJ with one and they were pretty stout.

    the block is very close to the same, the 4.0 has a better head with more water jackets. The xtras can be plugged and you can put the 4.0 head on the 4.2 for easy FI

    ive considered building up the 4.2 just for shits and giggles. the 340 is kind of an odd fit for the jeep. but it is a torque monster too.
