A few additions to make me feel cool.
$2.71 a gal out in Cali, better than the $4.70 this summer. I am starting to think the summer flux was total BS!

Saw $1.89 at a Phillips on the N side of the KC downtown at Antioch on I-35 today. Have we finally broken the back of the oil traders with our decreased consumption. Or have we set our self up for a even higher boomarang effect to the upside, when the low price has them closing the taps slowly to bring back another artificial shortage next spring and summer. If the heating oil areas in the NE has a mother of a winter, it is almost a without a doubt we will be testing the oil highs we set last summer.

the price of gas has nothing to do with any "shortages"
since it has been on the commodities market (futures), the price fluctuates based on speculation
