We are supposed to get snow the next 3 days. I'm bummed about the restricted pow access too! At least for now, the trails are dry and rideable.

GG is a solid contender. My only gripe about them is the fact that unless you are in the front range, or know a guy, you're hosed in terms of demo availability. That said, haven ridden a few out in Fruita, I would buy one without hesitation.

Yeah, I've seen their stuff around. good looking bikes. Need to do more research into their suspension but their numbers are pretty good. Definitely on my list. I've heard good things about them :)

Maybe this will work. Dirt jumper shorts a gap and eats the lip. Wear a helmet kid.

    Fuuuuuuuuuuuck.

From your description I was going to say "I've done that, too!" but thankfully mine wasn't nearly that bad. I still went into the ER but that was because my wife of 6 months was working that night and knew I'd get my ass chewed when she came home the next morning and saw my shoulder, hip and chin all beat up. Helmet did its job on the noggin, though!

Homie looks OK, but you know he has a "C word" going. That was some major whiplash.

    I mean, maybe?

Me and my buddies always say "C word" instead of the medical term for trauma based brain bruising because its like Beetle juice. Say it enough times and it gets ya.

Wear a helmet for sure. It always surprises me when I see people ride street / dj / any park stuff really and they have no helmet or just a standard lid (no full face). I don’t have a pretty face to begin with, no way I want to make that worse.

Same for skateboard. Culture seems to be no lid for cool points or something, and sadly I have seen more than a few have a hard time looking cool from their wheelchair.

I believe there is always a need for a helmet, but definitely a place for full face. I have been riding for over 20 years and I am confident in my ability to crash properly. A regular helmet protects me from my own mistakes in 98% of my riding, but definitely a full face if at a bike park or when the specific need comes up. Most trails I ride though, lid is just fine. More airflow, more comfortable, more likely to keep it on.

For sure. I live in Michigan so only a couple trails in the whole state need anything more that a standard helmet, but I still have the gear for when I travel or plan to try some stupid street or park type stuff.

While on the topic, anybody have any recommendations for new tech full face helmets?
I have an older Giro Remedy which is probably too old to keep using not to mention I do not know if they even make it anymore. I bought new pads this year so I should probably replace this helmet too.
