Awesome! That's gotta be pretty gratifying work.

I've always wanted a wilton tradesman, but they're pretty pricey.

Yeah finding an old one that needs to be cleaned up isn’t a bad option. But that Wilton C0 I just posted cost $150 in that condition. I’ll easily be able to get $350 for it when it’s done.

Not a bad idea. I'll have to keep an eye out for something like that.

    Much appreciated!
The wilton ones were attractive to me for the beefy pipe clamps and deeper jaws. We use wilton's at work and they're great! The pipe clamps come in handy a lot.

Got some stuff done yesterday. Reinforcement under the swing out bearing. Hidden trailer hitch and frame reinforcements.

It feels good to get some projects done on the truck. I feel like it’s been months since I’ve had a chance to do anything. Swing is painted, tire and hi lift are mounted. I also re wired the lights back up, put it on a weather proof plug this time so if I need to take my bumper off again I can just unplug it. 238BBB66-E1FD-48CC-8217-E90B8178404A.jpg

Truck is looking great! Planning to mount anything else to the swingout?

Also, what led you to decide on the 5.25" ones?
Curtis (owner of durobumps) explained to me that the 4.25" one are typically for people with 2" of lift that don't want to go too far into a negative arc, and that the 5.25" are usually used by those who do a shock relocate.

My rear lift is 3.5”. Shock relocation will be in the winter for me.

I have some plans for the swing out for sure. I want to add a table, and probably two Jerry can mounts. I’ll also like to figure out some type of power to it so I can run a led light on some type of extension, as a cooking and camp light.

I painted it because it was already starting to rust.

    Ah gotcha.
The 4xinnovations swingout kit looks to be pretty good quality.
    for the future mods!

Yeah it really was a quality product. Come check it out sometime if you want. For the price, you almost can’t build one for cheaper unless you fab everythinggggggg.

    Definitely. I'll let you know.
I've wanted to build a swingout for a while and the 4x kit seems like the way to go for the DIY route. Just need to decide if that's something I wanna do with my current rear bumper or something different.

    I've thought about it!
Thing is, I wanna try and keep things as light as possible which is easiest done with tube (or aluminum, but too rich for my blood lol). That's why I like my current bumper.
Not to mention a rear plate bumper wouldn't match my front one that well.
So many different things to take into consideration haha I go back and forth all the time.

Well I don’t know your tire size. But I know for me I needed a full size spare and mine wouldn’t fit under the bed anymore

For now i'm on a 285/75r16 which is a 32.8. I was able to stuff it under the bed with some modifications, but it's not an ideal spot because of how far it sticks down.

Not to mention I won't be able to keep it under there when I get around to doing a shock relocation. Or when I go up to a larger tire size obviously.

    True that!
I just got lockers so until I learn the absolute limits of my truck, i've told myself I won't go up in tire size haha
