Looks good. I see the remnants of a tech deck. What made you decide to pull it.

    Thanks.
I had one of the earlier versions of a mount that you could attach ram mounts to.https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ram-mount-feeler.476890/

I didn’t like the idea that the bolt was trapped behind everything, but once installed you could not take the dash apart. Well, the nut at the back was spinning trying to remove it, had to drill out the Allen heads. Didn’t want to deal with that on the trail if I had to fix something behind the dash. Went with the a pillar mounts and the mirror mount.

Ok read the thread have a few questions I’m kinda half assing this for now if I attempt due to budget constraints. Plan so far is fj case with J shifter and if I use this rst harness does it plug into the glove box harness and would I have to splice anything? I’m not concerned with ign/ground taps or dash lights working since it’s mechanical now just if the add will function properly.

You'll cut two wires in the glove box and splice them.

@MattCowsmasher I was half awake when I read your post and misread it. The wires behind the glove box will make your dash lights illuminate correctly. I'm not sure how it will affect the ADD.

Understood I’m curious is the harness is just plug n play.

Looks like it plugs in at the actuator, I think it’s safe to say it is plug n play.

    Your lights should work fine

If you're doing the FJ tube swap with the FJ tcase then you don't need that or any other harness since you're getting rid of all the electronics except the sensors. That harness is for people who are keeping their ADD. If you do the ADD delete, just those splice the two sensor wires that Alex mentioned behind the glove box. That will bridge the existing wires from the tcase to the dash.

The fj tube will be later down the road but I appreciate the feedback. Right now just want to be able to have 2lo without the twin sticks things have gotten a little tight.

If money's tight at the moment, I'd hate to see you spend $170 on that harness. At that price you are over half way to the FJ tube and that's buying 100% brand new parts and replacing the bearing. I know wiring isn't for everyone, but to keep the ADD, it's a night in front of the TV with soldering iron, few bucks worth of switches, wires, and the actuator plug which you can either re-use yours or I'll send you my old one if you want to pre-wire a harness. Just something to think about.

Thx you make a good point let me drink on it I may just just do the tube and wait for the twin sticks. I currently have the 2lo module for the oem Tacoma setup I can sale.

You're not gonna like me for shitting all over everything you're trying to do...but I think that the current solution for keeping the taco case and deleting the ADD requires leaving the ADD actuator plugged in and attached, but zip-tied nicely up out of the way in a ziplock bag or something. You can trick the 4wd ECU into thinking the tcase actuator is there, but no one has figured out how to trick it into thinking the ADD actuator is there.

Your not shitting on anything the 2lo is just a piggy back harness for the oem 4wd CPU I’ll sell it, with those funds get a add delete and fj case and save up until I can do the twin sticks and just be done with all the nonsense. I’ve pretty much decided on that now the more I read.
