Details. Breeds? Tips and tricks? Cost of ownership, negative aspects, thing you dislike and would change

 

The 4 we have now are pigmy goats (small and short). I've had nubian and boar goats which are big. Nubian are more for milk, boar are for meat. Pigmy's are just cool. Cost or ownership is minimal, a good fence is the most expensive part up front. They are pretty low maintenance animals and don't give much trouble as long as they stay in the fence. The biggest thing with fence is making sure you have one they can't get their head hung in. They push through and then can't get their horns back out. Woven wire with big squares is the worst for this.

We have one steer, he is mean as crap. The other 3 are female and nice. If you can get them as babies and raise them they are generally friendlier.

Hell yes. I've always wanted farm animals as a kid. If I were to do this, I'd only keep goats and chickens because of the ease of care compared to most other animals

 

I almost bought a monkey off the street in Thailand. But that's another story

 

What's the fascination with farm animals, dare I ask?

Not sure, but even though I grew up in the city, I've never really been a city guy. When i lived in NC. It felt more at home to me. Same with the few times i was on farms, i enjoyed it, and animals have always been cooler than people

 

It was a spider monkey like the one in ace Ventura. I got the guy down to $80 american. But I was so drunk and the other guys I was with talked me out of it with some good points

 

As a general rule, animals are cooler than people.
But, there are some asshole animals out there...
