I should be happy! I'm going to get the same exact welder I have now, just the one with 240 capability. And it will be able to run a spool gun if I ever decide to try that out.

 

A spool gun is handy. Expensive though as you also have to buy a bottle of straight Argon to go with it. I haven't bought one yet for these exact reasons but used them working quite a bit. It is basically still just migging but you have to really play with wire speed, distance, and voltage for a bit to get the hang of it. The dow fall is until you do get used to it the wire is so soft it is very easy to bird nest in the gun. I figured you were getting another welder like you had just bigger as you truly enjoyed that one and it worked very well for you and that's all that matters

I do indeed. I appreciate it, but I doubt I win. I didn't follow the rules very well.

 

It's all in fun. I just decided to jump in at the last minute. I thought your entry was really nice I actually want to investigate the cauliflower augratin

 

I just make a nice cheesy bechamel, add in frozen cauliflower, top with cracker crumbs and more cheese. Bake, covered, at 350º for about an hour.

 

Dadgummit now you're trying to educate me. I don't cook with recipes. I cook everyday but rarely with a recipe. Now I have to google what a bechamel is.
It drives my wife (who is an incredible cook especially baking) crazy everything I do is off the top of my head. I just see what materials I have to work with, consider a flavor profile, and make it happen

 

Make a roux gravy with milk and add cheese.

 

I googled if you had said roux I'd have known what it is LOL

My plates from Joe arrived today so I made some progress on the truck. I’d done a little sheet metal work the other day to use the tiny bit of remaining gas I had left. Casper gave me a great tip of using a strip of 18 gauge behind the joint to act like a filler.

Like the impatient idiot I am, I started without it because I didn’t have any metal on hand. I regret that. Word of the wise, listen to the more experienced.

I got that started and got the composite bed gap to the best I can. Unsurprisingly it is difficult to have a nice seam all the way through. Getting the sheet metal lined up was my priority and I’d deal with the composite gap later with other means. For now, that’s just rocking the bed mat. If that’s not enough protection I will throw some caulking or silicone under there to seal it up.

I alternated the washers because it helped make it more rigid, plus some of the bracing on the underside made them not line up. Killed two birds with one stone.
