Not if you put the million into dividend stocks that won’t cut. If you did that over time, the million might not be there, but the income will remain the same (or go up as the market crashes).

That would get me a smaller townhouse if I’m lucky and didn’t know how to work on shit. I paid $290k for a short sale, 3 bedroom 2.5 bathhouse with a 2 car garage and a 1/4 acre. I was ecstatic at the deal I got but I’ve spent the last two years completely redoing everything.

Once again, home cost and wages change by location. I lived in San Diego where home prices were crazy, but in general wages were much higher than where I am now.

Most people will have a well-diversified portfolio in my example still holds true what can happen ... not too many would have all their eggs in just a handful of Blue Chip stocks which may be the way to go looking forward instead of all the ETFs Bond etc.

You’d be surprised how many people have all their eggs in a handful of Blue Chips. Now, that handful can be diversified by sector, contain 20-30 individual stocks, and follow the broader market for the most part. A lot of people (that I follow and read from) do exactly that though. I do as well, I am definitely not taking credit for the strategy.

I've started to broaden a bit over the past year or so, but this is roughly what I do as well...

It works, you’ll just never get that 1,800% gain like you might from Netflix or Amazon. You’ve got to be ok with an annual 5% gain and 3% dividend from Coke and Pepsi. I am ok with those returns.

Yep. I still have probably 30yrs in my working career so I'm a little more aggressive than that, but I would say that I'm about 40% in the dividend payers to provide some stability. I've had a hard on for V and MSFT for the past 4 years or so for example. Still pay a dividend, but still definitely growing.

    Morgan Stanley virus timeline chart.

I would be curious to see how a successful antiviral would change some of this. If its effective a vaccine is ALMOST a moot point.

I love the ingenuity of America. We are over here making things like this, while China was welding sick people’s doors closed so they’d die in their houses.

I had 3 of my dipshit friends advocating that's what should happen here. I lost my shit, I wont be talking virus issues with them any more lol.

I'm curious what "worker wave 2" is. Fingers crossed my biz takes off, this is a recession where a safety consultant could possibly clean up!!

Interesting. I honestly don’t think we’ll have a vaccine anyways anytime soon. They’ve been trying to cure the flu for 50 years now and corona is in the same family as the flu.

That's because the flu rapidly mutates where this one doesn't. There is some truth tho about not having one soon. BUT it will be game changer if they pull it off. Heres a somewhat uplifting video regarding all this, makes you think that maybe a dystopian future isnt on the other side of this (fingers crossed).

I did not know that. But that was a pretty good video, there might be a lot of good that comes out of all of this! AI improvements (like in the video), sanitization and cleanliness becoming a social norm, who knows what else
