Yea, I already did a warranty claim about 6 months ago and got a few new ones. I just wish I could buy some lenses.
If anyone has any lenses or used cyclone lights (with good lenses). Lights do not have to work, I just want new lenses. Let me know!

 

So you did a warranty claim, got new ones, and now the new ones are breaking? Sigh, I don't want to deal with this again. I might buy the other version of brake light from Meso.

 

The hex light?

 

well....I havent been following this thread closely, but I think they are in eternal development? . That would be awesome if they come available.

 

I just think that the plexiglass lenses are soft and weak. You would think that they would sell the lens separate from the light. I just don’t want to spend another $150 for lights when I only need lenses.
I guess I’ll buy one of Meso’s Hex lights whenever they are done.
@MESO, Any idea when your hex brake light will go for sale?

 

Love the lights, not a fan of the “not sold separately” lenses. I have two that cracked as well, but was thinking about changing the color arrangement. Easy with lenses... not, if I have to buy new ones.

Maybe he can get them to sell us some lenses. I’d buy replacements plus an extra set. It’s very easy to just replace the lenses.

 

Yes, just like that, but (constant + is very different to battery + in a wiring diagram). I located relay next to interior fuse box.
I don’t know where the interference was coming from, so to remove as many variable as possible I went direct to the battery. If you pick up and constant + from the fuse box, you could well pickup the same + the OEM switch uses, in which case, you’ve just done a lot of work for probably no effect. (Unless the interference comes from where the power wire is running in the harness to the cargo light).

 

Since my KC cyclone lenses are cracked and I don’t want to spend $30 per light just to replace a $5 lens, I was thinking about changing my 3rd brake light to a different one. I see on Amazon and eBay a bunch of different ones for different trucks. Anyone know if there is another truck with a similar design to the Tacoma double cabs. The 2 bolts holding ours on are 9 1/2” apart.
I’d rather buy a cheap one that’s not cracked to use while I wait for @MESO ’s new HEX light to be for sale.

KC replaced mine for free. I am worried a bit that the lenses will crack again, but that was cool.

 

I had the same issue. I filed a warranty claim with KC. They sent me 5x new lights. I pulled the lenses and sent the old lenses and new housings back to them.

 

Hrm... might just make my own lenses from sheet polymer.

 

I specifically asked them to go back to design and make thicker plexi for this light. Here is an opportunity for someone to offer an aftermarket solution. I would really hate to have to replace my light. I dig it.

 

If you do, make lots of extras! I’ll buy some.

Haven’t taken the light off yet and just want to make sure I have everything when I go to do it. I got this adapter from MESO. Do I need to purchase the matching connections to attach to the bd lights wiring? If so anyone have a link to them?
