One of the best looking “local” 3rd gens.
This “lockdown” has worked wonders for me to find free time to work on my tundra. I can actually start working on my taco Again.

this things pretty much done for now

thank ya both! im pretty happy with how its turned out. far cry from when i got it last feburary after it rolled on I65 down by Lafayette. im in for what its worth, but thats including maintenance, upgrades (power windows, locks, modern radio, ETC.) dont think i'd be able to find a cleaner truck for what i have into it. not perfect. but far from bad. Shes got 200k on her and i bet its ready for another 200k.

I went ahead and installed the additional rail behind the cab and threw on some Rago Fabrication Maxtrax Recovery Board Mounts. I need to swap the mounting pins from my Prinsu Load Panels to the new mounts.

Thanks man. I appreciate the offer. I ended up just buying a mig welder and learning a new skill. I just love new tools and being able to do something myself.

That thing turned out looking awesome. You know, those were make here in TMMI even though TMMTX calls themsleves "birthplace of the TUndra". Yeah, second gen Tundra.

We didn't make many of the reg cabs because the profit margin was in the red. They only made reg cabs as a marketing tool: bench seat, manual, 6cyl, of course in 040 Super White. It was tricky getting that bench seat in (in 12 secs allotted time) with that long manual shifter it had. The equip wasn't set up for that package.

I didn't even remember it, but apparently we offered it with the 3.4L. I only remember the 4.0L. http://www.toyotareference.com/tundra/2000-2006

You ever seen one come in your place with the 3.4L?

Yup. Most of the reg cabs I see are 3.4 or 4.0

Any old momentos you could get me from the trucks birthplace? Lol

I should come take the tour and bring it with. Toyota apparently will cover it since I’m an employee

I'm sure I can find something. If you come, I'll sweeten the deal. I remember once you said you were looking for a set of those factory running boards for your Dad,s truck.

No charge: re-payment for all the good advice you dispense on TW.

Here is a picture of the first Tundra ever built driving off the inspection line at TMMI.
It is sitting in the lobby even today. Red ext cab Ltd 4x4 with 0 miles.

The tours may not begin again for a while. Currently, production is scheduled to restart 4/4 (if Gov Holcomb allows it...), but it will be a gradual ramp up. They don't run tours when anything is significantly abnormal in the plant because they don't want people to get the wrong impression.

I'll let you know when they will restart tours. If you want to wait, I am not going to get rid of the boards. If you really want them ASAP, I'd be willing to bring them to Terre Haute some time. No charge.

Give me a Sat or Sunday morning target and we can probably work something out.

Braincramp, yeah last. Late 2006. The Texas migration had begun.

I have a hard copy pic of the line-off of the first one, the one that sits in the lobby with zero miles, Same type, ext cab 4x4 red, Ltd.
