Just living here in the foothills they are all around us you just dont usually get a good view of them. I have only seen one in the yard in the daytime but we have had our bird feeders destroyed several times. Where I hunt about a half hour from here I usually see about 20 in a normal season

 

We've been up here going on 20 years and there were only a couple instances we (the neighbors and I) thought maybe there was one in the area. Once while picking up the mail at the end of the common drive, something a lot larger than a raccoon slid out of a tree onto the ground. Another time my neighbor said her rotties would not go outside one night. The one she had was quite large and not a chicken at all. Other than that the only thing we pick up on our cameras are deer, cats, dogs, coons, fox, squirrel and bunnies. Oh, and just recently, for the first time, a rafter of turkeys. That was wild as hell. I use to hunt when I was younger, fish too, but now it's more fun to sit in my living room and watch them from my recliner. Not sure what I'd do if I saw a bear. I suppose I'd call the DNR just so it is reported for the bears sake. Up here I wouldn't put anything past some of these residents.
