Question newbie here I’m in the process of building my 2019 Tacoma sport 4x4 lb and I’m having a hard time with deciding on lift height torn between 2.5 vs 3” the set I’m going with either way will be the ready lift 3” 6112 or the reg 6112 with no .5 top hat any suggestions would help tires 295/70/17 bfg km3

Unless you want to add new UCA's, I'd go with the shorter height option

That size tire is going to take a serious commitment to make it fit. I would research what it takes to make that happen and the lift questions will answer themselves.

You’re 4x4, go 2.5 inches to protect your cv joints. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you’re still over your head. Do some more research.

Go with 2.5". Get SPC upper control arms, they have extra adjustments, which is key when getting your tires to fit/alignment.

Wasn't that bad fitting mine. Although I was really down to cut the front bumper regardless of putting on bigger tires.

For reference this is what 2.5" front and 2.5" rear lift looks like on 295/70/17 mud terrains. Looks like I have less wheel gap because my fender flare EZflares stick down a little bit.

I guess people have different opinions on what “serious commitment” and “fit” can mean.
Sounds like you had good luck with yours. But seeing the endless post of guys just trying to get 285s to fit, I’m still going to say 295s will take some real work.

Too many to list. I’m lazy
I’m running 295/55 on a 3” king coil over. I can tell you that what you will need to do to make them fit will largely depend on what wheel width and offset you’re running. I’m on a 20/10 -18 and had to do a cab mount chop and trim the fenders a bit.

if you’re down to cut stuff until it fits, I say go for it. If you don’t want to cut anything, go with a 285/70/17 with a 0 offset and a 3” lift. This “should” only be minor plastic trimming.

good luck with whatever you decide.

6112/5160s on 5/6 notch with progressive AAL and overload. 295/17s. This netted about 2.5 front and 2 inches in rear.

Definitely will take some massaging to fit 295s and actually off-road. Nothing too crazy (CMC, trimming fender liner, hammering pinch weld and supporting alignment). UCA’s a plus but not required. It’s not hard but can be a headache if you leave it to someone else or are inexperienced with modding.

***Also, your wheel backspacing / offset will dictate the effort to make them fit. 0 to -12 is usually what works best. The more negative the offset the more massaging you will need. ***
