Calling all Virginians (Tidewater area)

Need help y’all. Anyone work with a body shop or know a buddy at one who can help me out? Someone ran into my wife in the Runner and they claimed full responsibility but I’d like to use this opportunity to upgrade the bumper to a steel one. Picture of 4Runner for attention

 

Hello Everyone, I just bought some 6112/5100 suspension kit along with Upper Control Arms: I am also planning on getting an ECGS bushings:

I have no experience whatsoever on lifting trucks but is there anyone that can install or guide me to a trustworthy place to get these installed once they arrive? I can pay if the price is right.

Welp now I’m in search of some 285s for 16inch wheels. Tires separate or with rims. Let me know what’s out there in the Hampton roads

 

Looking for a good shop/individual to install a comprehensive suspension upgrade. Not anytime soon, granted, because all my "fun money" is tied up in my emergency fund until this pandemic blows over.

Eastern Truck and Accessories will do the install, but only if I buy my parts through them.
I've harassed @EatSleepTacos with enough dumb questions for a lifetime. I think we're in the running for the longest PM thread in TW history.
@StAndrew, are you still offering assistance to clueless folks?
Are there any other places/people I should consider? I'm totally fine with paying a good amount, so long as it means my baby runs right for a long time. This truck is my daily driver, not a weekend toy.

Eastern just sent me labor quotes for installing some of the parts I'm looking at. I thought I was gonna have a stroke.

OME suspension kit install: $1052 for labor
ARB snorkel install: $795 for labor
ARB front bumper install: $1139 for labor

For those prices, I'll leave the damn thing stock.

 

try talking to Southern performance by town center on virginia beach blvd. I had them check out a few things on the truck. nice guys.

 

also, that price is wild. I paid a shop in central VA $350 to do my OME install with leaf packs and mounting my new rims. but after working on the truck myself since then and installing my UCA's, it isnt bad at all. when it opens up again, we could all get together and do the install at The hobby shop on base.

 

Glad to hear my gut reaction to that price quote wasn't uncalled-for. I mean, dude, the installation can't cost (nearly) the same as the parts... can it?

I'd love to do a meet-up/build day. I know basically nothing about vehicles, so I won't be able to contribute anything in the way of technical know-how. But hey, I can pass a wrench and do a beer run with the best of em.

 

Hey there! new to TW, but am in the VB area. My shop and all of my tools are in TX with my fiance, until I can get a transfer down there. All I have with me is my basic hand tools. If you or anyone else has space/tools/help for rent, I'm looking to do an OME suspension install as well. Front and back. I have the know how, I just don't have my tools. My truck is also from Vermont so the current suspension is pretty crusty and difficult to work on the streetside. My last job, which shoulda been a 2-3 hour job, took me 2 uber rides to the parts store for crappy get the job done tools. I'd be more than happy to help/pay/join in on getting some work done to a few other taco's in return. Ex military, current Fed employee (Immigration). Thanks mang!

 

If you don’t mind me asking, how much for a suspension install?. I don’t dare start it with the tools I currently have here in VA.

 

Helpful folks, but their installation quote was pretty pricey. $840-1080 for labor.

 

Urgent! Anyone local have the ECGS bushing tool? I am into the bearing swap and apparently the tool I was give is for the 7.5" clamshell bushing and it wont pull the bearing out, its screwed it the rollers in the needle bearing so I cant even put it back together as it sits. If anyone has one I can come get today I would greatly appreciate it!
