So I was at a stop light tonight and a kid crashed in to my truck.
My receiver hitch tow ball saved my truck from any damage !!! It did completely destroy the kids front bumper. Sorry no pics of the actual event but you get the idea.....Keep your balls on!!!

Yep, my brothers truck has been saved twice by it. and thats why i always keep mine in there. My boss said some one ran into the work truck one time in a honda civic, and he has one of those 3 ball ones, and it ripped the radiator out of the car. haha

Yeah, the kids radiator seamed to be leaking but I could not find a hole in it.... I think it was bent back and cracked a line or seal or something

Couple years ago some guy pulled out in front of me and slammed on the brakes.(saw a pedestrian at the last minute.) My 2nd gen supra got fucked up bad because of his ball. If it wasn't there i would have had only minor paint damage.

Got a good point. I never really left the hitch in for any reason other than to lazy to remove it. I think due to the ride height of the kids car and my truck even if I had nothing in the receiver, the impact was centered on the receiver hitch and would have took the hit either way. The actual impact was probably not as bad as it felt the ball just saved my bumper from damage. In a more high speed crash your probably better off with out it. If I did not have it on tonight I would be looking for a new bumper right now.
