Uhm I would've just texted him.

He does commercial, and this is a small electric type.

Having tapped on this component (black circle) seems to turn on the heating element but won't do so on its own. What sends a signal for this component to turn the heating element on?

PRI is the only company to go through.

Centurion used to but PRI has the legit components with the exception of the swan sleeve which is unobtanium

So I'm right to assume that's a live wire on the left and ground on the right

    Ok.

Has nothing to do with the probe in front then?

I ask because that thermal switch only has 2 wires that lead up to the control knob.

When I turn the knob to turn the heater on, the element doesn't come on but the fan does.

That switch opens if the heating elements get to hot. Like no air flow over elements. It interrupts the power to them until it cools down.

In that case, prepare to be photobombed.

This is one of my MK12's I sold; I had a total of 4 at one point but sold 2 and parted 1.

Stole from my own photobucket -

The Mod Holland up top, just put together with mostly clone specific parts, with the exception of the stainless barrel, upper, and lower.

The Leupold on that rifle though was the real deal with curret turret caps, and I sold it for over $1k if I recall correctly on Arfcom; people pay extra for the clone specific parts

    Below is the MK12

    ed103a6ef0a25c60d69294356d1c78b7.jpg

And close ups of the parts needed -

Douglas barrel, OPS sleeve and brake, ARMS bipod adapter and Harris bipod.

ARMS tac rings, ring rail cap and mount -

PRI CF handguard and monolithic rail -

When I bought this setup from PRI years back -

In the right hands, with your own loads, 5 shot group load -

I'm pretty sure just in the rifle and Nightforce on it I had about $6k into it more or less...

    Thank you very much!

Seems it's just stuck open, and needs disassembly for cleaning (contacts all dirty) or simply replacing if it's a cheap item to replace.

Found my AD when I sold that rifle, I actually ended up selling the upper only.

That must be why I have several extra lowers and scopes; taken from my ad -

"Down sizing my collection so up for grabs is a factory complete, PRI MK12 Mod 0 SPR upper.

Purchased new about 2 years ago and has about 1,250 rounds through it. Still have the receipt somewhere if it matters. I used this to complete my "MK12 clone". This is an extremely accurate upper, as it manages sub-moa consistently if you do your part.

    I'm also including; Harris BRM-S bipod, A.R.M.S. #22M rings, A.R.M.S. #22TRC, A.R.M.S. #22TRR, A.R.M.S. #32 Harris bipod adapter, and A.R.M.S. #40L stand-alone flip up sight.

To put this all together, it'd cost you over $2,100 not including shipping.

All you'd need is a Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x24 and a lower to complete your clone!

    SOLD"

replace. You need to know the temp for it. See if you can read the markings on the back. It's not a serviceable item. It's all crimped together.

I might not go nightforce. I might go Leopold but for now I'll be putting a 1-8 primary arms scope on it. Then buy a better scope for it. Take it slow to keep the lady happy

If you put anything on that upper that isn't either -

Leupold Vari X III or Nightforce 2.5-10

    I will backhand you.
