It may be, but I think people typically stretch themselves thin. At a young age it may be harder. When you're older and buying a house, how many people who could afford a $700k house "settle" for a $400k house? Probably not many, but you definitely can do that. Same with cars, etc., it's all about living below your means.

Respectfully that's BS. I graduated in 2005 and was pumping jet fuel into airplanes, had an apartment and had an offroad truck habit and still managed to save for retirement and was pumping money into the market when it shit the bed in 2008. Bought a house in 2010 making a whopping 17per hour with my (gf at the time) now wife and the rest is history. I didnt even have a car payment until I was in my early 30s and paid that off early. I'm not blaming the youngins, I'm blaming the absolute lack of any sort of economic, and personal finance education in school or from their parents.

I will say I think going forward the late gen x and younger generations will over time be better at saving than the older generations.

lmao ...sad but true. I told my market manager to hold pat when the slide started because I really do believe in America to adapt and overcome. Going forward I think USA will ultimately be stronger for all of this. Getting off the soapbox but if nothing else at least we're washing our hands more these days which is never a bad thing.

I like that it will change the way office people work and the contactless point of sale machines coming out.

I think it will obviously be weird for a little while after this is over, but I honestly don't expect any long term changes. People forget things fast. I expect people to be coughing into the air by next year, with nobody batting an eye. Just my opinion.

Anybody know why TRTX and GPMT aren’t performing well? Or just REIT’s in general?

Well I did it in 2018 and did it in this current dip. Like I said, I’m no pro, but I have made a decent amount by taking advantage of circumstances. Buying the dip and selling the bounce. Because I’m not a pro I don’t have to stare at a screen all day, but because of current situation, I definitely don’t mind! I pulled out quite a bit of my “day trading play funds” the rest of my investments are tied mostly tied into BA, a little NCLH, a little in TRTX, more in FUN, and more in RUTH. Mostly in BA though which at the moment I’m starting to wonder if that’s a good idea.

Buying a dip and selling it at a later date isnt day trading.

I’m up 158% on the year so I think my current strategy works. It works for me. It’s what I know so it’s what I’ll stick with. I always have a long term game, (long term for me is like 3 years), but @Boyk1182 has gotten me into chasing dividends more. I’ll probably be holding those for life.

I've been looking at it more and more since I've got some unexpected time off. I don't know if it's for me long term but I'll sure as shit use the next month to find out.

Haha definitely don’t do that. I tried that once and lost my ass. I guess I don’t day trade by definition, but I’m not all long either

This chart sold me on this strategy, even though I was doing it already. You have to be really patient, but you get paid while you wait. It’s not really waiting if you just want to get paid though.

Well I already made my money on NCLH. I bought 300 shares less than $9 and sold at 16.99.
I currently only have 20 shares of NCLH.
The cruise stocks have “fans” and once a stock has fans I stay away.
That’s like Apple, Amazon, hell even Walmart. I bought walmart at like $98 or $89 in ‘18. I sold. That’s one I probably should have kept though
