Especially when you don't gain any clearance. Weird to see a dual swing-out that maintains the factory hitch.

Well... They fit with the Deaver U402 Stage 2 leaf pack, which is 2.75" thick. Not much threads exposed after that, but enough to not be alarming. So, I suspect they're longer than stock.

I ordered the stage 1, and they sent me the stage 2 by mistake. I had it installed for 3 weeks and was causing all sorts or problems. Finally contacted Deaver directly (ordered through Wheelers) and they realized their error and shipped out the stage 1.

Stage 2 (even with 300 lbs of sand in the bed) was too much lift (3"+), had nasty driveline vibrations, and rode fairly rough. I imagine the stage 3 would be the equivalent of welding in 3" solid steel plate for my leaf springs.

Yeah, not much weight back there.

    • aluminum bed bars
    • Shovel
    • (4) maxtrax
    • tonneau cover
    • RCI bumper (20 lbs over stock)
    • full size 265/70/17 spare and T4R Pro wheel
    • BAMF sliders
but that's about it for added weight.

What stage are you running and how much lift did you get. I had nasty vibes with the stage 2 at 3". With the stage 1 at 2", I have very minor, if non-existent vibes.

I think it's critical to run these at the proper load, otherwise it throws of the designed angles.

i have the u402 i think. with 1" blocks. tried to keep similar height from the block lift when i switched axles. db front lift is kinda permanent. trying to sort out the front now. i usually have 2-400lbs of payload. after checking my angles i still have vibes 0-15mph. drives me nuts!:bananadead:

    Too much?

    Habitat 350
    Batteries and such 150
    Maxtrax x4 30
Camping stuff (that's always in truck) 80
    Fridge 70

Also just added a high clearance rear bumper which added a good hunk of weight. And finally, I tow a trailer, a lot. 16 foot flatbed car hauler used to haul my SxS and ATV.

And when I do head out camping, add 100lbs water, food, drinks, 20lb propane tank, 30 pound hot water system... and everything else, lol.

    EDIT: fully loaded

I will admit to some serious vibrations between 55 and 61ish. I just make an effort not to drive at that speed, lol. Other than at that speed, no other issue.

At that point, why not a fullsize? Or do you normally leave the other toys at home.

I bought the truck new back in 2011. Wasn't until 3 or so years ago I started modding the rig. It's 100% paid off, and less than 100K miles on it. I like the smaller size, came from a full sized chevy before. I wouldn't doubt if over half my miles anymore are towing the trailer. We like to camp at the dunes and ride. Also tow the 4 seat SxS to use with Search and Rescue. Other than that, I usually just drive the truck 7 miles round trip to work each day. And it tows my toys fine, as long as you don't mind getting 10mpg.
