More examples can be found paging through this thread, and the gap is a little greater in most pics, but that is only because they have an o-ring installed (or maybe they have a stiff boot). I used to include the o-ring with purchase until I found out most were just tossing them. The groove is still in there, because it's about .02c cheaper to print it that way.

Nice, but it looks like a 6spd knob to me? :D

And, it looks like your tilt gauge is broken? ;)

    I'll show myself out. :bikewheelie:

Weird, this is how it shows up in the thread. I know it isn't your fault, but the forum software:

    upload_2020-4-14_10-35-0.jpg

It shows up right in the quote. Too funny!

Cool thank you guys! I’m making a shift knob out of a Snap-On ratchet handle grip and wasn’t sure what I was gonna do about the boot, so this little cap is perfect.

For sure! I'm just waiting on a pipe to make the adapter to mount the grip onto.

Enjoy the collar. It looks good and gives a lot of space to wrap you fingers around the knob.

Ok, I really like the look of the old early 80s OEM shift knobs. Does anyone make one like this only with the correct 6 speed shift pattern for my transmission?

pulled the leather down and tied it off on the inside to have the shaft more exposed

O.K. I decided the 8-ball didn't look so bad after all.
