Its been a while since I have tried on a couple of full face helmets but the Troy Lee Designs Stage helmet fit the best and was nice and light. The Fox Proframe was not bad either. Full disclosure* I was only looking at helmets that I could pedal in vs. strictly downhill options.

I am running a DHF 2.35 rear and Assegai 2.5 front, and the setup is pretty much perfect. The Assegai grips like Velcro, it’s almost cheating. I know a bunch of people running DHF’s on the back end, but haven’t heard of anyone running a DHR up front.

My brain is worth top dollar when it comes to helmets.

    not enough.
I used to have a DHR up front (came stock on my bike). I have since switched to assegai up front. IDK if it's because I've become a better rider but my front wheel washouts have come to nil. Even when it becomes sketchy, the front wheel somehow finds traction somehow right before it washes out. I still ahve the DHR in the rear but might switch to something else once it goes out. We'll see.

I remain with the TACOMA pending... (- a move back to the US is looking like it will be postponed while the virus debacle is sorted...)
BUT - I can certainly post a picture on this thread: THIS is my current off-road vehicle... it is a NORCO 'Sight' C1 29" (2019).

It takes a pounding downhill - but I find it points uphill VERY nicely as well. A great all around bike. I like taking it for a more than occasional urban jab as well...

    - I normally deeply dislike BROWN... but this was the only colour offered on this model. I have grown to like it... (I just need a UPS sticker for it! :D )
Bugatti makes a Veyron is the exact match... - maybe some day...o_O

The Army Green Taco would be a good pairing for this, I do believe...

I considered the following (all 29") bikes before going with the SIGHT which had me fully convinced after a couple test rides...:
    • Commencal Meta (Very nice bikes - I later bought two 24" Ramones for my boys)
    • Evil Wreckoning
    • YT Jeffsy
    • Trek Fuel EX 9.x (My previous bike was a trek)
    • Specialized Stumpjumper (I am a fan of Specialized bikes - but this just did not do it for me...)

I run the exact same combination. I don't fuck around with flats anymore and weight is a non-issue for me. I want the strongest and grippiest tire the LBS has in stock

Still ride my steel hardtail sometimes and on the right trail it is a ton of fun. Not as cushy as Jet RDO but I can't imagine not owning a HT.4FCDEAE0-DBA5-4276-9A60-9B9728F91271.jpg

I prefer the QuadLock for phones. Rock solid on both road and dirt.

    Matching phone cases:

Or maybe their universal adapter for use with an existing case:

Yup it was the only DH casing at the LBS. Definitely slower but great traction

Dude I hate Eagle so much. After this cassette is doneski I'm going back to 11 speed (can't afford shimano 12 speed)

Nothing wrong with 11 speed. But they do make 12 speed SLX now.

just curious, as I'm looking, what are the issues with Eagle- all of the line or specific series, GX, XX1, NX...? it's hard these days to find a non-sponsored review that's worthwhile so your feedback is helpful! Thanks

Damn. I wish I knew you wanted to go back to 11spd shimano. I just sold off my slx shifter/rear mech and XT cassette/chain. Perhaps not exactly what you’d want but I’d have sent it your way for dirt cheap.

NX is garbage, just stay away. I ran a mix of GX XO1 and it was ok, the range is nice but I just had a lot of problems with it staying consistent. I ride reasonably hard and I maybe dont clean my bike as much as I should, I also shift under power more than I should. So all that let to me having to have the bike tuned up more than I think it should. I also tweaked the derailer on not that hard of a hit and it never was right again, so I replaced it. And stupidly bought another XO1, and that shit is just more expensive than it should be. But all that said, the cassette lasted 1800 miles and probably still has a little life it it, so at least it was durable. If you go SRAM, GX is the sweet spot. But I just recommend people stick with Shimano, it's as smooth, more range, less maintenance and it's cheaper.

EDIT: the way XT 12 speed can be shifted under power is honestly pretty amazing.

From my perspective the marginal gains simply aren't worth the setup time and constant adjustments the sram 12 speed stuff requires. I already thought 12 speed was excessive but then when it requires so much tuning it quickly becomes a nuisance. I rarely use the granny gear anyways

yes Shimano is heavier but their shit simply works better
fuuuuuuck. yes thats the dream setup for me

Ive been test riding some bikes lately, nothing hard, but I really liked the Sram eagles that have been on the bikes I road. I think it was the SX which is lower. I guess its all relative compared to what you are used to.
