What's a stiffer ride though out of a 1.5 block or 1.5 aal being unloaded most of the time? I'm looking for softest ride in the rear since I don't haul much

Bilstein 5100's OME 887's Deaver AAL Level 8 MK6 16x8 -10mm offset wheels BFG KO2's in 285/75R16 Gorilla small diameter ,extended thread, black chrome lug nuts. Coming soon: BAMF eco Grille with quicksand color matched TOYOTA logo. NFAB step bars MBRP dual black exhaust
Guessing a diff drop is recommended if going for 2 inches of lift with 887's? Didn't see that it's included with the kit I'm getting.

    piddly stuff
the 2" block i had in the rear wasn't bad mostly like factory i guess but i like the 3 leaf aal much better. at slow speeds going through town you fell the bumps a little more but at speed either on a back road or the highway they're much nicer. off road the aal seems to really work better over bigger rocks and flex better. idk about a single aal though and this is just what i've experienced

In my 2007 Offroad, I had 5100's all around with OME 887 in the front and an add a leaf in the rear. Truck looked great but the ride was very stiff.

Just traded it for a 2013, and I am happy to go back to the stock ride feel. My back is too.

Stock coils are 530 lbs, IIRC. OME 887 is 590 lbs, so not a huge surprise unless a person likes the firmer road feel.

I felt the stock was too soft, so I loved both of my aftermarket suspension setups.

For sure. The 886 was the the heavy weight coil for 2nd gens at 660 lbs.

3rd gen coil rates are up there. Seems like someone bought 3rd gen takeoffs and was going to replace his worn 2nd gen suspension. Don't remember who, but curious how it would ride.

Yea I don't know. I know my Trd sport rides like a brick especially off road I do have a spacer lift that probably doesn't help but I can't decide on what coils and shocks to use for the softest ride even debated using stock off-road coils and shocks I hear from some people they ride a lot better but who knows?

    Eh.

One is a linear spring rate and the other progressive. Not a night and day difference, but if you can try it for cheap or hitch a ride around town with someone with an Offroad to then go for it.

On the gen 2s, the SR5 trucks and ORs had the same coils. Might be true for y'alls trucks too.

I'd think the SR package would be included in that as well.

So far a 2" level lift and complete mossy oak seat covers...(as of may 2019....took the coverkings seat covers off and returned them cause they fell apart less than 6 months old...having a apholstry shop do them.) Just bought mickey Thompson's rims offset -22 8X16...not on yet. Plus I have a 1985 with a 10" lift. 42,495 miles. NOT FOR SALE...lol
Did you use the stock coil springs with the 5100's? Cause I'm about to do the very same set up. I was told to leave it on .0 and by 2.5" toytec coil springs. ANYBODY PLEASE SO I DONT WASTE.MONEY..I have brand new OEM coil spring on my stock bilstein with not even a 1000 miles on them and its.the off road package....anyone know??

Old man emu 885 coils with the 5100 set at 0 would also give you a great ride. I can’t really speak to toytec

Ignorant question here I know...but could use some help: I'm running a Four Wheel Camper (Eagle-850 pounds) on my 2016 Tacoma TRD Offroad. Currently I have OME Dakar leafs and Firestone air bags installed. Now want to upgrade shocks front and rear from stock. Moderate offroading use. Want to be wise about the investment and not having to replace quickly because I went too cheap on the setup. So Toytec is out and I'm leaning towards Billstein 6112's (lifted to 2") in the front and 5160's in the rear. Love any feedback. Here's an example of my confusion: Kings with reservoir up front are 2.5x the price. Kings in the rear are 3x the price. Considering my heavy rig and medium offroad usage, what will spending $3000 for Kings get me that I won't get at $1000/Billstein?
