Not sure about that, look at number 22 on page one of this thread.

    22. What if we have a dongle version kit? Nothing changes, although if you want vF Tuner you will need to use vF Tuners flash software. It is not compatible with dongle software.

He later decided to make it mandatory for dongle users to trade in

I’m not sure if there will be a 2.0 final release for dongle owners or not. I don’t want to speculate or take things out of context. But, this is how things went down in chronological order.

So I paid for a “beta” 4 months after he announced development in 2017, yet I have to convert to get the final software in 2020? That seems a little backwards, seeing as we “dongle users” funded the development. I like not being tied to one computer, as I get new ones often. That was part of the allure of the kit he sold. I have patiently waited for a final product for almost 3 years. I understand if we can’t update without VF software AFTER the final product is released, but to force a change in order to get the product I paid for 3 years ago seems, for a better word, unfair.

However, recent events have changed a lot of things, and life is not fair. So I will do what I must to get 2.0, even if that means having to change. The needs of the many out way the needs of the few.

Mat said that 1.05 was the original final tune.
He said that he decided later to do another tune named 2.0. This was a bonus tune after listening to his customers. There was never a plan for a 2.0.

I am really glad he did decide to do 2.0 or else there would be no tune for the auto 2019s. 1.05 and all earlier tunes are no longer compatible with auto 2019s.

In your email, include your name, order# (if you can remember it), sysID, and your truck model/info

So, it’s like he continued development to include a larger sales base, which is smart. It was during the development process that he changed to dongleless software, which is smart as it eliminates a third party that doesn’t have to rely on. Yet, he continued to develop software for both the new and legacy model. Now is the time the legacy model becomes obsolete. That’s all I’m saying. I’ve owned this since the beginning #purpledongle. Things change, either trade it in and get vF or be happy which what you have. Can’t wait for 2.0 and hopefully will never have to flash the truck again.

I gotcha. I also hope to flash to 2.0 and leave it forever. I’m not a fan of making my own tune and going through all the other trouble. I have 3 very young kids, ain’t nobody got time for that!

So I'm one of the dongle users that is hesitant to switch. The reason is that I love the 16012 tune but have never downloaded it in P5F format and it is no longer available on the public page. If I decide to turn in my dongle and later realize I prefer one of the previous tunes I am out of luck because they are no longer available. So for me my choice is roll the dice on P5F 2.0 final or live with a tune that I am satisfied with but not get to even compare it to 2.0 final.

I tried the 19800 and it did not play well with my truck.

Forcing this change to p5f AFTER 2.0 Final release would have made much more sense. Changing now puts a lot of long-time customers between a rock and a hard place.

Not true. I had 1.05 on my 2019 MT for a while.
