How often to do oil changes?

Every 15,000kms with Pennzoil full synthetic.
I just checked mine today at 10,000km, oil is still golden in colour. Lots of life left in my eyes.

 

that’s kind of a good news bad news assessment. You want to see oil darken with use this means it’s holding the contaminates in suspension. Also oil analysis is not done visually you need to send in a sample.

 

I got free oil changes from the dealer when I bought the truck. They do conventional oil and an OEM filter ever 5k. I have ~228k now, so I guess it's going alright.

Daily driving and the occasional towing. Oil ends up getting changed about every other month these days.

 

I have always the YZZD3 on my 4cyl trucks and Mobile 1 full SYN and go 1 yr or 10k I don’t put many miles on my little trucks but figure the little extra bigger filter helps keep clean .
Years ago I sent a oil sample of one of my higher milage Tacoma to Blackstone , its a oil testing company and everything was normal and the truck had 178k on it truck was still running like new when I sold it with 230k .
For the extra $$ the Synthetic is worth it .
