Opened up that engine yet?

 

Good evening gents, hope everyone is staying healthy out there! Have quite a few updates ive been working on lately.

Haven't dug into the motor yet, it's still plugging along and and ive just been topping off the radiator. The amount of water that overflows into the resi is very little so it doesnt take much to top it off. The problem doesnt appear to be getting worse quickly, and now that im working from home ive bought myself some more time. The new plan is to buy a used motor with 50-75k on it and throw it in there while the old one gets built. Other than that, been doing a few things to the truck lately to burn some time.

started out with a thin lip satoshi grille





Then I decided it would look better green. So i painted it and also painted the headlight lower trim pieces that were plasti dipped from my front clip swap


Washed the truck and then took the center caps apart and dipped the big part black and the emblems grey.




Next i decided i was unhappy with the mounting of the solar panel on the shell so i cut the brackets down on my wind fairing and stuck it back on the cab like i had it earlier. It's nice and quiet this time around with the fairing and i could probably still use the racks on the cab in a pinch if necessary



Also painted the shackles on the front bumper black that were originally silver and repainted the plastic hood scoop & tailgate handle that were starting to fade


Upgrade my faded and cracking mirrors to the 12-15 sport version. The truck isnt wired for them so they arent functional but they sure do look purty. Plan is to color match them whenever the paint comes in


My original passenger tail light was leaking so i bought some new base model style tail lights to replace them off rockauto


And last but not least, started giving my headlights a nice buff/clean up with the dremel and some meguiars plastx. Got the passenger one done. Not bad for a 7 year old headlight

Howdy! Thanks man, i did that last november when i swapped to the 12-15 front clip. Still need to get it painted though, or i might try my luck wrapping it

no luck on the motor yet, but the old one is still plugging along. I have my eye on a good used one but im saving my pennies right now. Gonna try to just swap them out since i think ill be able to do that, and then ill take the old one somewhere and have it rebuilt/upgraded
