In all honesty if Toyota resurrected the 2nd Gen tomorrow I be at a dealership when the doors opened with the title and my checkbook in hand saying what's on the lot and let's talk options.
In reality sometimes you just have be happy with what you have. I'm happy....., but I could be happier!

Not to start a great debate but if I were a whisky drinker for example I would choose Jim Beam over Four Roses any day of the week.

If it were cigars, I would choose an Alec Bradley Prensado over White Owl which are so far apart that the White Owl shouldn't even be called a cigar.

A truck is a truck, bourbon is bourbon and cigars are cigars in name only. The differences between each can be major. IMHO the differences between the 2nd and 3rd Gen are significant. We all have our own opinions and rightfully so, that's just mine.

Edit: changed Jamesons to Jim Beam and whiskey to bourbon. I don't drink hard liquor so..........

But a highball made with CC and Canada Dry ginger ale does make a good cigar pop!

You don't have to hit your thumb with a hammer too many times before you figure out that it's not a good thing.
Being Irish does have its challenges.

I like this a lot. Was it difficult to wire?

Not really, I actually wired it to the cargo light switch, so it comes on with the power locks and when the door is open or with the cargo switch. the wire for the cargo light runs along the sill plate so i came up through a rubber plug and tapped into the wire.

Ahh, the spin on filter - miss that one too. 10 minute job turned into a PITA task with custom tools and skid plate removal o_O

Loved my 2nd Gen AC. I think the AC version is my favorite look for a Tacoma. Biggest issue for me finding a new truck to replace my '06 was the rear jump seat design change that happened mid 2nd generation. Only got a DC 3rd Gen because it didn't seem like a fold flat jump seat was available much past my '06 - and why the hell can't you get a 3rd Gen DC LB MT? but I digress. No one sits in the back of my truck, I just need a nice flat place to put all my crap and didn't want to custom build a platform like I did in my old S10 and others have done here for their pups. The '06 seats were perfect when laid flat and an option (though miserable) when needed for a small butt or two on a short trip. I mean, geez even Dodge can make this work.

And I do miss the size, simplicity, interchangeable front seats, and (believe it or not) the manual front hubs to allow me the 2LO option that I'm trying to get set up in the 3rd Gen

Okay... </OldManRant> - now get off my lawn

I like that a lot. It looks awesome. What lights kit did you used? Can you identify with wire you tap into? Thanks in advance.

Off Grid Engineering "Side-by-side" dual battery kit with 2 Odyssey PC1400 Group 35's. The house battery to a circuit breaker, fuse box, then the Blue Sea panel you see mounted in the bed. Powers 2 heated blankets for like 8 hours on high :) Couldn't be happier!
Obviously a couple of the pictures are not from the final product. Maybe i need to do a quick photoshoot with the final product

Finally got some good weather to paint and mount my @SOS CONCEPTS sliders! They came out pretty good but had some confusion when we went to mount. Eventually figured it out though! I love them! :D:D20200414_131853.jpg 20200414_183250.jpg 20200414_193207.jpg

so these are the rock lights I used only problem with them is that the wire comes out the back and I didn't want to put unnecessary holes in the floor, I had a friend 3D print some blocks to space them out then epoxied the blocks to the light and dbbl side tape to the body. the cargo light wire color is light green, beware, there are a few light green wires there...

Wonder how the double sided tape is going to hold up in the long run.

they have been on for 2 winter seasons now. If you use the 3M brand with the activator it will hold until you chisel it off.
