Dang.. that's a wide open possibility there! I'd recommend a heat floor (pending where you build) .. I got the idea from an addition we did at the fire station and it's so freaking nice!

Ya I’ve considered it the only thing that worries me is I want the extra thick slab to handle the weight from the lifts and stuff. I’m worried about what it will take to heat that and also what it would do for drilling into the floor and stuff.

When we built our last house we almost did a heated driveway so that I wouldn’t have to shovel or snow blow.

$20k extra put a quick stop to that.

Well if you plan ahead for the lifts etc.. the lines can be ran around those areas. At the FD we still use 2 40 gallon water heaters to heat the glycol for the floor but now they have micro boilers etc to made it all more compact. And hey.. if Bill Gates can have a heated driveway.. why can't you? If you end up in Texas or something then it's silly of course.

Ya our last house we built here in MI. It was nickel and dime’n me to death and that $20k just wasn’t in the cards. I couldn’t justify that I was THAT lazy. :)

$20K seems a little excessive.. but I suppose it depends on the size of the driveway.

This shows most of the driveway. It’s a circular driveway.

Updated forecast is for 4-6 inches of wet heavy snow tomorrow... Probably not going to get much sanding or painting done

I hit the first layer with like 220 then added a fresh coat.. I've got all the way up to 1500 grit so it'll be super slick! Haha

I’ve done some in the past where after I was done sanding I took wax and an orbital to it. :)

I'll keep that in mind and try it if they need it.. right now.. this poly stuff is pretty awesome!

Hopefully the weather breaks enough to get the actual cabinet painted soon!
