So we're finally bedbug free. We were bedbug free 6 months ago, but apparently it takes 6 months of weekly spot-checks to be official.

The guy who brought them in from his parent's assisted living facility just managed to get them relocated to a better location one month before that old facility started getting COVID cases. Holy hell.

My facility. Had an employee get infested last fall from his parent's assisted living facility. He took them home and his truck, where they took over. A couple snuck into work with him. People lost their damn minds and threatened to not come to work over it. We told them that failure to report would be taken as resignation, making them ineligible for unemployment.

Needless to say they all showed up.

Flash forward 3 months and we sent them all home to work anyway because of the bugs we can't spray for. Go figure.

The maintenance folks found two of them...and they were already dead from the stuff that's sprayed regularly. The rest of the "bedbugs" that were found after that were baby roaches that were fond of the sysad's desks. Apparently keeping a full pantry in your cubicle isn't a good idea.

Still, the word sent the place into a panic. People, as a species, are idiots.

That makes sense. Different with confirmed dead. Still, they are gross as shit.

Roaches are a no-can-do for me. I will use the most lethal stuff imaginable as long as the roaches don't come in the house. Our bug guy is great, and our one request was "no roach will be alive in this house. Spray what you gotta spray." They use some organic, environmentally sensitive stuff, but damned if it doesn't kill any bugs that get in. Roaches or scorpions that try to cross the threshold are dead within 2 feet.

Tempo is pretty amazing stuff. That’s what I spray around here, it’s also pet friendly once it dries.
