So here is the difference.. the 2020 will get you carplay and power seat, as those are the new 2020 goodies.

The 2019 offroad will not have power seat, will not have carplay, but still has bluetooth speakerphone, radar cruise, heated mirrors, leather steering wheel, etc.. that the SR5 has. It will also have diff locker.

It all comes down to what is more important to you.. diff locker, or new car with carplay? since you don't offroad, I would say go with 2020. Also That 2019 is too high, IMO.

Sorry didn't realize it had 3k miles on it. Yes that's too high for a used one. I checked new on the autotrader but the dealer must have thrown this under the new section.

    Here's a new one 2020

I guess the main reason I like the off road is because it looks better to me but I think in the future the different tires and maybe even a grill mod might make the SR5 look pretty much the same as the off road or better I guess.

The new SR5 you're considering has black alloys that are harder to find than the off-road wheels. You can easily sell those wheels and tires on craigslist and buy a set of the offroad wheels and tires for the same money (or add another $300 to the sale price of your black alloys and buy a set of TRD Pro wheels.)

Grill swaps are common and inexpensive.

Get the brand spankin' new SR5.

2wd is fine I think the SR5 I'm looking at is only 2wd as well.

Oh I guess the one you linked is only RWD as well. Man that so expensive. I paid $31500 before fees for a 2020 SR5 Double Cab Longbed 4x4 in Oregon a couple months ago. I know prices are different all over but west coast tends to be more expensive than the south east.

Everything is high priced in my smaller city for some reason. You have to go out of it a ways to get a decent deal most of the time.

Go for the new TRD off road. Two to three years from now I think you will appreciate the few extras it has over the SR5.

I would buy the new SR5, but there are little things I would miss about my TRD Sport.
Like the LED strip day time running lights vs amber lights.
    The hood scoop. (Flame me.)
The LED turn signals on the mirrors.
    Fog lights.
    Intermittent wipers.
TPMS warning actually shows which tire is low, opposed to just a low tire light.
I'm sure there is more, and none of it is a deal breaker. But sometimes it's the little things in life that make it worth living

@punkmanmatthew I went with a used 2016 SR5 4x4 DCLB - about 33k miles on it and got it for $28k out the door. It was the right deal for me and I am glad I did not spend more. With some of the savings I upgraded the headunit and some other light mods (OVTune, bed cover, front level) and I could not be happier. Not sure where you are located but if you are near VA and would prefer the standard SR5 wheels over the black PM me...might be interested in working out a trade.

    Good luck on your path!

    Working on it ...
First off, these really aren’t cheap trucks. They sell and dealers for the most part know they will sell. When I was looking at the end of December 2020 to replace my 2002 truck I knew I wanted a double cab, 4x4 and a long bed. I was pretty flexible on the rest but was leaning towards the OR as that’s what I had previously.

Long story short, the 2020 were a lot of money and there wasn’t a lot of wiggle room from the dealers. I sort stumbled on to a 2019 TRD Sport on 12/28/19 that was optioned almost to the tee the way I wanted. The dealer took almost 8k off the price (left over I guess) and I bit. Not the TRD OR I was leaning towards, but I have never looked back. Nice truck and I enjoy it every time me and the dog get in it :)

Moral of the story ... if the truck fits your needs and the price is fair, jump on in. Or you can keep looking for ever for the Nirvana truck and price and not buy anything.

    Good luck!

All of this things are on the 2020 SR5 other than the hood scoop and LED lights.

So I’ve found a few options. Looks like I could maybe get one of these for 30k OTD. I’m kind of doubting they get the off road one down to 30k but maybe. Keep in mind where I live the TAX caps at $500 so the tax isn’t a few grand or something when thinking about an OTD price.

I’d rather have the off road even tho it’s only 2 wheel drive if I could get one for the same price as the SR5 why not I guess right?

The SR5s are the color I want and if I added different tires a side step thing and maybe a different grill I’d have it looking pretty sharp I think. So I guess whichever truck gets me to 30k I’d probably go with.

Is the off-road two wheel drive the one to try to go for if they can move down to that on price?
