    Hello,

So a month ago, my ABS and brake lines came on. Found the thread here about scanning the codes, etc. Scanned the code and got C0210 (right rear speed sensor malfunction) and C1238 (metal stick to speed sensor Right Rear). OK ABS sensor went bad. There appears to be some 'scrubbing' on the sensor. I figured that if it happened over 170k miles, then I'd be good for another 170k on a new one.

Called my friendly Toyota dealership and replaced the sensor with a new OEM sensor. Buttoned it all up and its good.

Yesterday, the lights come back on. After 250 or so miles.
Exactly the same failure. Exactly the same codes.
I pulled the sensor and I have the results in the pic.

Guess I gotta pull the axleshaft and inspect the tone ring.

Could a bent housing cause this? I do beat my Tacoma pretty hard....

Possibly bad wheel bearing causing play?

That's a possibility. I'll check the FSM to see how to check that.

Not in the FSM. Guess I'll jack it and give the wheel a shake.

Rear bearing feels tight. Pulling the axle shaft and going to visually inspect. Ugh.

I pulled the axle and there's nothing that seems out of the ordinary/. There was a packing of dark grease around the flange where the wheel bearing lives. Considering that there shouldn't be any grease there suggests to me that I have a failed bearing seal.
    Sorry, didn't get a pic.

You have a defective bearing that is rubbing the sensor face. When it is not worn they should never touch. Something is obviously touching that sensor. The only way for the tone ring to hit the sensor is if the bearing is worn out.

Bad wheel bearing and seal was the cause in mine.
