Dont forget to check your local pound. We got our little one from a shelter and kind of found the big one on the side of the road.

They are typically cheaper and make great dogs!

    Head unit. That's it.

We've been searching all forms of animal shelters and adoption agencies within about a 50 mile radius. No luck.

We've been turned down two or three times because it seems like every dog needs a fenced in yard. So, we are thinking we need to go the puppy route.

You go right ahead. Also, I really appreciate you putting my tag above Bob's.
Definitely go with Australian Cattle Dog. If you want a goofy dog with serious mind issues, OCD and insane herding instincts (read: will chase after everything just to be able to herd something) then get an Australian Shepherd.

I've done some roofing in my time...but that time is past. :p
    No thanks.

As for the food, I wish.
Some Mennonites had a kind of restaurant nearby that would serve an evening meal.
But it was really intended for young single Mennonite guys on construction crews or whatever.
    State regulations drove them underground.
But it was good simple food like on the farm growing up.
