Just placed my order with @4xinnovations for their Bolt on Rear bumper with Tire carrier, Double Jerry Can Mount, and Fold Down Cook Tray.

Mmmmm excited would be an understatement. Truly feel this will complete my rig.

Trying to find some more pics of people running these. Or any input ya'll have on pros cons, painting them up, etc..

Also i have to say the communication with Adam has been exceptional. He is quick to respond, and is very easy to talk with. Seems like he's doing things right with his company. I dig it.

    Cheers

    Adam is a rad guy!

I have a 4xI standard rear with a swing out on my rig. I am actually the 3rd owner of the thing surprisingly and it’s still going strong.

when I got it there was a small crack near the swing out from some heavier than average loads that a friend and I fixed up but besides that it had no issues and has taken a beating from 3 people and still works and looks great.

I did have it re powder coated last summer. You are already spending the money on the bumper, I definitely recommend getting it PC’d. Even if you end up paining it or touching it up down the line, a PC will hold up better as a base and help with rust etc.

Not the best pic but it’s what I had access to at the moment. I carry a couple rotopax (fuel & compartment case) back there as week as a 5# LP tank on an expedition essentials mount. I also added a 2” received on the swing out to allow swing out use of my bike rack.

I have a couple of 4X’s jerry can mounds and they are beef!

Insane that its 3 owners in! Great info thank you. We are on the same page with powder coating, I just came to that same conclusion today. Might as well send it, just feels the right thing to do. Im definitely in a buy once cry once phase of my life. Hate doing things twice. Your ride is looking proper brother, cheers!

So after reading thru this thread I am very interested in this rear bumper for my 05. How does their powder coating hold up? I'm not sure if it would be better to have it painted here or what. How much prep work is needed before paint? Thanks

Hey there, so I believe any parts ordered from 4x Innovations come bare steel, I could be wrong, but basically what @Eazy.E and I we’re referring to was outsourcing powder coating the parts once they arrive.

thanks man! Yeah it was a friend of a friend thing and I didn’t think I’d have it on long before getting a HC but at this point I have not intentions of getting rid of it lol

I’m sure 4xI offers PC prior to shipment if you don’t have a place locally but it’s likely to get a little banged up in transit

Did you get the bumper yet or already have it mounted up? 4xinnovations seems to be overlooked quite a bit on this forum when it comes to trail armor. Could be due to their forum activity/involvement but their prices are reasonable. I've had their sliders for 11 years or so with no issues and got it shipped for a total of less than $400 IIRC. DOM w/kickout. I remember Adam not processing my order because I was stationed in CA and had a ship address there but my card info had my home address here in Oregon. He thought it was fraud so I called him up and cleared it with him.

I'm torn between their standard rear bumper and SOS Concept. We'll see if this is the year I'll buy during black Friday :D

I’m curious how you mounted the Rotopax at an angle and fit the Expedition Essential mount next to it?

I swear a write up is coming. Here’s a couple more pics until then. Currently working on a propane mount, almost there.
