I bought this one and it's worked well, would probably be great for what you're doing.

Since I have no plans for grading a slope or doing concrete work, my needs are fairly simple. That being said I don’t want junk. I’d prefer to not exceed $200 if that is a reasonable expectation.

 

I have both of these. The first one is my go to and both work great.

Some of the pipe wrenches I’ve collected over the years. The 48” & 36” I did welding for and traded. Ask the guy how much and he said a dollar an inch. The 6” I saw and had to have it, used it on some 1/4” pipe stuff.

I use a Bosch and Johnson Level brands at work for setting up tests. My only gripe is that it isn't a green laser, which would be easier to see. Definitely go for a green laser if you think you might ever want to use it outside.

Hopefully getting my garage computer setup this weekend. Bought a cheap wall mount for the monitor, unfortunately will probably have the printer on top of my side locker for now, but.. oh well.

Still loving the US General Series 2 boxes.

Since I came around TW last a few months ago, I also grabbed some Gearwrench stuff. 1/4 and 3/8 flex head comfort grip ratchets, magnetic spark plug socket set (which is awesome), and a big set of 3/8 wobble extensions. Really pleased with them all so far.

Tekton and Gearwrench stuff seem to be what I’m replacing my Craftsman with, or adding to it. Definitely not finding anything drawing me towards buying more Craftsman, so looking elsewhere now.

 

Didn’t want to spend anything on a shelf for the monitor, so was going to build one. Buuuuut, found out HF sells a wall mount for $9. It’s actually pretty beefy, swivels out and tilts.. rated to 66 lbs and fits 17-42” screens.

Fits the bill perfectly.






Plus my magnetic phone mount will be here today, so this will be a much handier setup.

Nice setup. I really like how compact it is but you still have plenty of storage.

That was my uncles pride and joy, back in the 70s in that picture. 1932 Ford 5 window. In later years he repainted it to GM metallic blue a la Saturn. Had a supercharged SBC and a 5 speed, drove it everywhere.

He also made the 32 Ford 5 window art piece on the wall beneath that pic.. it’s made of brass brazing rods.

 

This 34 Ford has been sitting untouched for 35+ years. The owner says he'll never sell it & has instructed anybody that asks to buy it, to just watch for his obituary. Talk about a "barn find"

Such beautiful cars back then. I rode in the 32 once.. that was as uncomfortable as can be. My knees were absolutely buried in the dash and braking hurt like hell.

Definitely too small for me, but damn was it fun. I’m much more comfortable with and enamored with late 40s-late 50s cars. One day I’ll finish mine.

Still have a lot of work space. Have a cordless keyboard and mouse, but also have a silicone roll up keyboard I’ll use primarily, stored in a drawer.

 

26 inch monitor for scale.

 

Look up Industrial PCs, smaller package, can be had fanless as well, mount it out of the way, free up Tool box space.

 

anyone got any recommendations on tool box deals?
I'm in the market for a new box and have a max budget of like $700-800.

I've been eyeing some of the Husky boxes at home depot. There's a bunch of different ones, but they all look to be the same more or less (few more/less drawers, 51in-56in, finish, etc).
I originally wanted the US general 56inch roller chest for the expandability. But the husky boxes just seem like a better deal from the get-go considering how much more storage I get for like the same price.

Anyone care to share some experience on the subject or point out some things I might be missing?
