Ha! That’s my electrolysis tank. I collect old cast iron and it’s the only way to remove all the rust and crud without damaging the pan. Fuck scrubbing and scraping!
Just need some washing soda ( not baking soda) in a water bath, negative to piece, and positive to the sacrificial anodes( re-bar)! It just bubbles away and all the crap either floats to the top ( grease and funk) and the rust falls to the bottom.
PS- always thought Sacrificial Anodes would be a good name for a metal band. @stun gun

I got to thinking about all the kids out of school today and it reminded me of what I used to do to get out of school.

My dad was a professional firefighter and worked 24 on, 48 off. My mom went to work when I was 10 so on days my dad was at the FD I’d go to the office and say I didn’t feel good. We’d call mom, she’d come get me, take me home, and go back to work.

I’d do this about once a month and it went on for years.

They never did put two and two together and notice I only did it on days dad wasn’t home

Oh Grits, we surfed from dawn til dusk when I was a teenager living on base in Mayport. Got rubbed by dolphins often and they were cool. The dolphins would fuck with the sharks and keep them away. Well, finally got rubbed by a big damn shark one day. Thought it was just another flipper but it was much bigger and felt like a cat’s tongue. I freaked and was on the beach in seconds collecting my shit. 5 minutes and all the other boys calling me ‘puss’ and I was back out there! Just like horses. Gotta get back on.
