What was the extent of the damage and repairs?

 

The last image, that is the repaired weld. That weld separated and cracked along the top edge of the backplate. The original weld didn't penetrate deep enough.

 

Thanks for responding, did the weld separate under normal driving only or was there a specific incident, IE impact or while winching? Also, why are you selling?

 

I got snatched with a snow berm in front of me. I winched with it quite a few times and was previously snatched a couple times before this particular situation and never had issues. I do a lot of recoveries in my area so I need something that will be able to take a beating. Not that this one won't hold up to the occasional snatch and winching. I had a professional welder go through all the welds (cause of the failure) and test the penetration on them and redo the bad ones. I had already ordered the new bumper before digging into what the root issue was.

is it bent at all? does it come with the frame braces?

 

it is not bent. It comes with the original brackets but I would recommend getting the frame flange supports (BAMF makes some) as what bumpers bolt to isn't that strong.

 

Is this thing still for sale?

 

I have this bumper on my 2011 with the braces from SOS. solid as a rock.
