Due to the nitride process, or whatever other type are available, that 'finish/coating' fills the rifling since it is done after the reamer has gone through said barrel.

For this reason alone, stainless will be more accurate.

Can never go wrong with an M1A!

My AR has a stainless barrel from PSA. It shoots straight, I don't...

 

If you ever intend to customize it, and I mean really go all in, buy a lower end model and send it to John Wolfe.

He accurizes M1A's, though expensive, is worth it.

 

And realistically, most shooters aren't as accurate to determine how precise said rifle can be.

First thing to always look at if a rifle isn't shooting well is the shooter him or herself.

 

Yeah, if I shoot straight, it's pure fucking luck.

 

Chrome lining can be as well.

Gas guns have a lot of moving parts that can affect overall accuracy, I'm all for one if I can remove an inhibitor such as a stainless barrel on an M1A

If you decide on a chassis later, stay up to date with MDT.

They took over JAE some 2 years ago or so.

JAE makes the best drop in chassis for the M1A

 

For what its worth if you get an M1A you get 2 extra 20 rd mags and scope mount as a bonus till may 30th

I've handled one, but never owned one. I did have a Wolfe accurized rifle though with McMillan stock

an ar-10 is my next build. im debating lightweight or just say fuck it and go heavy.. but lightweight is more of a challenge to build..

 

Yeah I don't even bother with 5.56
