No rush! Just a nice to have/know kind of thing for future reference whenever you get around to it. TCB.

This looks like the one I have but in silver paint, easy to put on and take off, just a couple of brackets to install that the extender rotates into.

If you are referring to the bed extender itself, yes, that is the part number. From what I have seen, the first and second gen extenders are the same and my first gen extender fit in my third gen without any problems. You just need the brackets for the third gen.

I have that one. The tubes are fairly thin gauge but rated for 350 lbs.

Thanks. I ended up getting an Amp Xtender HD off Amazon Warehouse for $175.

The ones I was looking at on local would have needed brackets etc.

Looks like exactly the setup I want. Did you have to order additional brackets? When I looked a few months ago, their site made it seem like you had to order the bars then whatever mount you want separately.

Nope. The unit includes everything. Was well worth the $180.

I just ordered the Amp Bed Extender. It comes with the side mounting brackets like the one in Post#24. What would be the advantage of getting the ones pictured in Post #24? I will have to open the tailgate and flip back the Tonneau cover to remove it either way. What am I missing? Thanks.

I assume you mean you got the mounts in Post #24, and you are asking if the mounts in Post #23 are any better? I think you answered your own question - I don't see a value in having them - there isn't a mount that is going to be suitable for removing without lowering the tailgate. I have a tonneau, and I have to unroll it regardless, which to unroll I have to lower the tailgate. From a safety perspective - anything that could mount it so you can remove it without lowering the tailgate seems to be not worth the hassle. Just my two cents - sure someone on here feels differently.

You are correct. I wanted to compare the mounts in Post 23 vs Post 24. I thought I proof read before posting. Another senior moment. I guess I will save some money and use the ones that come with it. Should get it Thursday. Thanks for your reply.

Anyone know if a bed extender for a 2015 Tundra will work a 2018 Tacoma?

The Tundra one is wider then the Tacoma one.
