I love TW but hate it at the same time. It’s seriously crazy how rude people are. I’ve been part of several forums Ford and Jeep and never run into it as much as TW. Good luck OP curious what it is.

To be fair, there are alot of jerks on old Ford forums, ask me how I know. Good luck OP, curious to find out what it is.

I love how broad the message covers (engine, throttle, or automatic transmission). Maybe the message should say "something wrong with the vehicle" instead :D

im newer here, bought a few nice things from fine people, but it’s definitely pretty easy to tell who the loser forum boys are when you read through a few days worth of posts. Good luck OP that’s bad luck for sure, let us know what you find out.

Big question is: if they forgot to put engine oil in, will they try to just fill it up and send him on his way? I wouldn't stand for that.

He said he checked it and I assume it’s good. I’m putting my money on something simple like a sensor and hopefully not a misfire or coil issue. Being as the drivetrain is the same on all the 3rd Gens (nothing new for 2020) it’s probably not the latter.

Known issue in some 2020 engines per Toyota. Dealer had to call them. Shavings inside engine breaking loose in low mileage vehicles. Fix is to drain oil and change filter. So, this is a new, known to Toyota issue in 2020 engines.

WTF. A shaving big enough to block off oil flow or jam the VVT solenoid and the fix is to change the oil? Hope it works out for you.

that sounds pretty concerning with the first oil change they recommend at 10k miles. guessing its a bigger piece of metal than normal? do you drive heavy footed and hit high rpms?
