Did they build the diff for you or did you find someone to do it?

They're building it for me, never could find anyone to commit and relay info per my ideas of good customer service. Or, the shop would've moved further away than I was comfortable driving to.
I did find a Driveline Services in WV that does specialize in this stuff, but they closed due to COVID, and are roughly an hour drive on interstate.

Sending the gear set, master kit, sleeve, and locker pin/spring kit back to ECGS. FOR A CREDIT, or they'll use them in my build (their decision)! :yay: totally blew my mind they were willing to do so!
Getting a newly built 4.88 with a new locker, sleeve, etc. Once I get the new diff, I'll pull out my locker to sell or whatever I please, and send them back the 3rd. They didn't want me swapping the locker from one to the other because it would void the warranty I'll be getting.

Plan is to flush the axle housing, again, before putting in the new diff. Already did that once when I pulled off the broken ring. Just to make double sure that I get all the shavings out. This was a concern of theirs.

I should also start considering the bouncy parts in the front. She's a bit droopy faced at this point with the bumper and winch.
The 5100s have roughly 50k on em, and who the hell knows how many miles are on the 885s between @totmacher and myself.

Leaning that direction. Just hurts me right in the pants to spend ~$2k on shocks alone lol

Stay with 600. Being a 4cyl your pretty light. I think the perfect lift for these trucks is max 2" (keeps the front very happy). You going with dsc adjusters?

I was thinking a 650# due to armor and winch, is that too much? It did 'feel' a bit squirrely in the front before the added weight for certain. I know the springs are worn because I get a lot more lean in turns.
On the fence for adjusters, and resi's. May just get standard 2.5, but also don't want to do this again, just rebuild shocks when it's time.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
I had 650 springs on my kings and remember thinking maybe 600 might have been better.
That was weight of v6 and armor, no winch.

That's very good info then! Seems like 600 is the proper option.
    Thanks!

Makes me smile that we're all so good at spending each other's money :D

When I'm ready to buy em, full send! If only I could LT the front for a similar price point

I actually vote for non-bling shocks on a DD. Foxes and Kings require regular rebuilds when they are exposed to salt and road grime on a daily driver. If it were my trail only rig that gets used quite a bit, I'd go for something nice if you think you are going to keep your current IFS. Your back will thank you. I've got $35 parts store special shocks on my DD F250 but $1600 Foxes on my Tacoma :notsure:

That thought is also on my mind as well. Just do another 5100/885 install, but isn't the best ride on or off road. My rear Fox's will need a rebuild at 50k per their suggestions I guess, they're 2.0 ifp ext travel.

Just shit in a bucket. :crapstorm::bucket:

Lol it's not the internet giving me too many options, it's my brain, wallet, and the opinions of others :) I want a better ride all around if possible, but your input about high end shocks on a DD is not moot in the least!
