Bigger gamble than normal I’d say. Nobody knows yet if it will get worse if things stay shutdown for a little longer, or if they get worse opening up if it’s too soon and cases start to rise again. Or if it comes back in the fall and causes a slowdown while companies are trying to get back on their feet.

Stocks are only up slightly because of the disappointing unemployment news. Only 5 million, down from over 6 the last two weeks.

 

Would you be willing to short something? That may be a better move after the run-up we recently had.

 

Hey guys, this is a huge thread and I pre searched it best I could before asking, hope I’m not being redundant...

Is anybody out there ‘temporarily laid off’ till the COVID19 is over and on unemployment, AND getting that ‘additional $600?’ I’m sure it varies state by state but I am in MA for reference. I just want to know what you did to get that additional $600 the GVT claim is coming.

 

Some days I'm so spread out I cannot say I am rooting for the market as a whole to go up or down. Lately those have been good days.

 

I think it just comes when your state gets around to it. I saw about half the states are getting the extra 600 out now.

I know defense ROI are typically not very high, however I believe United Technologies will continue to play a huge role in the commercial aerospace industry.

 

Very true. Any company dealing with commercial space related things will be big in the next 20-50 years. Space ships, space buildings, mining equipment, etc

Haha definitely worth dabbling some money in! Especially with how many problems Boeing is contending with. That's why Delta is a good option regarding airlines, they don't have any 737 Max in their fleet.

PS - keep in mind I'm just a joe schmo schlub. I am sure there are a lot of intricacies to the whole thing that I am not the person to be giving you advice on. FCAU is my only positive stock on the day so far. I wouldn't take advice from me

 

I’m not trying to brag but I’ve invested about $2,500 so far in Robinhood and I’m currently at like $2,200 in Robinhood so I’m pretty much a professional.

Just blame it on Robinhood and its issues of breaking down. You could easily be at $2,657 or even higher if it wasn't for that damn platform!

 

Since I'm down even more - Heck that must make me a Marketwatch writer!
