What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Within the last 3 days I changed the spark plugs and polished, sealed and waxed my truck.

 

For some reason I’ve been wanting to wax my truck, but this is a pic of this afternoon.

 

Dang that model looks super early, the ball joint doesn’t even have a zerk on it. food for thought they have a upgrade program right now only cost $200 out of pocket after you send your old ones In

Yeah I was wondering the same thing. I did the

$100 PL5400 Black Manual Tailgate Lock with Bolt Codeable Technology for Toyota Tacoma

PL5400 as my fist ever mod to my new to me taco. I was wondering if the rod's rubbing on the tailgates interior structure brace could be fixed (see image). Maybe some kind of low friction material would help?

I also have a pretty sizeable gap on the bottom and around the camera (see other picture). Our winters are bad enough that I don't want debris and moisture inside the tailgate. What does the infinite cumulated knowledge of TW suggest to fill that gap? Liquid gasket type stuff? Ideally something that isn't an adhesive in case the handle needs to be replaced.

Figuring out how to get the damn gas tank skid on... any tips?? This thing does NOT want to line up/go on. On an empty tank too..

 

Ordered new tires. They're not amazing, they're not even M/Ts, but they get good reviews and they were inexpensive. Nankang AT-5 Conquerors (265/75/R16) for $622 installed with road hazard coverage for the next three years. Now the waiting game while my tire place gets them.

 

I recommend you start putting the amount you were paying for it into your savings account, then periodically put it into the market via mutual funds. Do this and you may be able to pay cash for the next one.

 

I tried to wash my truck the other day, was only one car wash open and it was an automated standalone at Shell. Truck felt happy afterwards at least
