Oh you can actually prep the truck and cut your install time in half!

Lift truck, remove rear tires, remove rear shocks, undo u bolts, remove bolts for leaf spring, loosen leaf spring bolts on ends, finalize removing u bolts, remove leaf spring bolts and remove leaf pack.

Once new leaf pack arrives, move forward with install and done.

Got some 2.5° or 3° axle shims over a year ago and never installed, can't remember which. But my pinion seal has a slow leak from the rear lift angle.

Pinion seal shouldn't leak at any angle, it's going bad or your vent is clogged and it's pushing oil through the seals when it heats up

Never had issues with the leaf spring bolts, plus mine have been on/off so many times the last few years they just zip off pretty easy

    Oh that's right, skeleton crew.

Just hope your leaf pack gets there early enough.

    Oh they're super easy.

I was picturing this scenario where the head broke flush with the leaf spring hanger, and the other end didn't have enough threads past the nut

Especially on the driver side where the fuel tank is.
