If in doubt, always go longer on the u bolts since they can always be cut down.

I did think about that, the current Expos are pretty thicc and the OME u-bolts still have a good amount of threads exposed right now so it should be good

 

Which u bolts? You only have one thread exposed at the bottom? That sounds sketch

 

Stock dimensioned, it’s really all you need.

That side blows, can't get a torque wrench on it. Had that bolt work itself loose once on a trail, coulda been bad news if it came out

 

You got yours built for 100# over stock ya? Mine are for 350# over so they'll be thicker but the OME length u-bolts should be fine

 

You don't recall a few weeks ago the nut having fallen off of mine?

I was on here quick to ask what the pitch was as I made a quick trip to ACE Hardware.

Granted I could've bought 1.00 1.25, 1.50, and 2.00 and tried them all but I didn't want to strip the bolt trying each nut.

 

damn you must be pretty yoked if you can't thread one on by hand without figuring it out

 

Damn you were driving it around without the nut? Did it clunk like a mofo? Mine did when it was loose but not off, really fortunate that bolt didn't work itself out or that could have been ugly lol

 

Lol I may be a little guy but sometimes retard strength just comes out like nothing

 

the other night GF's daughter told the neighbor kids I have to use my "retard strength" when working in the shop

I don't know how long it had been that way but it couldn't have been more than 1-2 days or so.

I had gone wheeling just days before, and that's when I noticed my transmission pan had been leaking again; it's before I went with the Toyota FIPG and pulled my pan again.

The bolt had only just come out of the hanger on one end and I believe it's when I parked when I felt something.

I had requested 250# over at first but added another 100# to it after the guys in the other thread thought 250 was too little. I saw in Dan's build thread he got his made for 600# over but he constantly carries way more weight than I do.

Most times I don't have much besides the bed rack and tail gate swingout but I need to have some leeway for the odd camping trip
