Mine snow has gone and come back three times now. Hopefully it's done with this nonsense and we can get on with spring!

Guess the bright side is that I don't need to mow the yard....but shoveling snow is getting old.

We’ve been about the same. No snow for Christmas but fresh snow on Easter. Melted, woke up with about an inch this morning. It’s melted now. Supposed to get some again this weekend. Been like that the last couple months.

Is this the right fitting? So what's nice about this is that you don't have to cut the pipe and reglue every time or what? It also seems easier to do as you don't have to cut then add on an extension to get the hight back. You can just cut, reuse the old threaded fitting and go from there right?

Been doing this on and off all day. Not fun when you're 40' up in a lift with the wind whipping.

Haven't had to mow yet though so that's a win :D

Can this be home improvement? I’ve got a zero turn now with no bagger. I have another riding mower and a tracvac I use to get our leaves up. Bought this hustler from a friend today and I’m selling the other three with engines vs doing all the mowing and leaf getting up with one engine.

Replaced stock radio with a Pioneer AVH series head unit. Focal component system w/a 10" sub powered by 2 Alpine amps. Weathertech floor mats. Line-X'd the bed. SCS Ray 10’s, Installed an A.R.E. MX series camper shell. All-Pro Apex front bumper w/ All-Pro skid plates all the way back to the Trans. Low Range fuel skid plate.
Question pertaining to air compressors for flooring nailers. I bought a Bostitch flooring nailer and according to the manual it says that you need an air compressor with 3.5 scfm to keep up with the nailer at 60 cleats per minute. I’ll be lucky to do half that as it’s my first time.can I get away with $100 Craftsman pancake compressor to do the job?

If renting one is anything over $30, I’d rather buy it being that installation is probably going to take a few days.

    Yes, that's exactly it.

    Yes, right fitting.

Yes, don't have to cut and re-glue. Becomes a simple R&R job of undo unions, then undo your threaded nipples into the valve inlet and outlet, thread them into new valve, and reconnect unions. After you set it up, no measuring, not cutting, no bullshit.

All new systems should be set up this way. Most aren't.

I'm doing this X100 right now. Installing a saltless water softener system with UV light, pre-filters and other fun stuff. I am using 1" copper for the whole system and have 8 slip joints so any major part can be removed/replaced without any cutting. It is also so if any threaded connectors start to leak you can fix them in the same way.

I have a lot of slip joints in my sprinkler system. especially around valves. I did it before much of my yard was covered in cement/flagstone. I have replaced enough valves over the years to learn.

If you are going to buy it, over buy. What’s another 30-50? A night out having 3 drinks? (Not where I live).

If you are planning on catching a 100 lb fish you don’t go out with 100 lb test leader. You over think it and put on 150-200. Just sayin.

I used my bostitch pancake tank and flooring nailer to do a 400sq ft oak living room. It did fine as long as you give the tank a second to catch up once it kicks on.

Off subject but my wife and I used to go to a lot of auctions. They had a pancake porter cable compressor, I bid it off at $10 not knowing if it worked or not. That was 8 years ago and it’s still working good

I'm going to redo my valves and put them above ground. Rotten moles keep burying them. Will cover with an insulated box to protect them in the winter. Also going to put a new wire inside some pvc pipe. Uugghh lots of digging...

If my valves are close to the ground should I dig it out a little, cut, and extend the pipe?

it’s hard to explain but where I need to cut the pipe is almost ground level at that point as there is a coupling for the nipples.

Yeah, I'm on house #4 since I joined TW. First house had zero irrigation, so I planned and installed it all, starting with PSI all the way through 5 zones. High pressure and low. The next three houses all had irrigation, and most of it was retarded. Especially drip. So many DIY clusters. Most drip I would tear out from the valve and redo. Last house had 14 zones with several buried valve boxes all over the property in various states of disrepair. What a cluster. In one thes valves were completely covered in dirt. I had to exhume that one and do it correctly. I won't even go into the constant PITA that entire property was. Irrigation is backbreaking work on a good day.
