You can go to the IRS website and see(try) when you'll get a Stimulus check. Us SS recipients will be last according to the news.

They specialize in an Asian Fusion style of food with a Thai influence. Not cheap but excellent for that special occasion.

Sounds like here in Kalifornia we might be shut down for a year. Gruesome Newsom has a 6 step plan, all steps have to be met, includes a immunization to be found and a large percentage of the population who can prove immunity. Commie Kalifornia.
Boat ramps have been barred off, schools will need social distancing, smaller classes. Oh, illegals in the state will get a $500 check.
I feel for folks in the city, I can at least camp in the woods here and walk Repo pup.

If California stays closed for a year, hell 6 months, it will collapse economically. And the ripple effect will effect the whole country.
How can people like hairdressers, restauranteer's and other businesses possibbly survive. They can't. I'm a Health Care worker and my place of employment is suffering now. No surgeries except emergencies. 75% of our admits are Covid. Nurses and such are getting shifts cancelled. Whole Units shuttered. People staying home going into florid heart failure, having heart attacks because their to afraid to come in. You can be smart about reopening the Economy. Will we get spikes? Sure. If you can work from home do so. Poverty kills people as well.

    Afternoon All,

All I can say is WOW; can't say I have every lived through times such as we have now.

@Devious6 Happy Birthday to you and Lynn. Guess, your birthday celebration will be one that both of you will remember.

@hikerduane I know I sure could use some alone time in the woods camping right now. Alone time camping is much different that alone time due to Stay-at-Home orders.

I went to my family physician for my yearly physical. He said that his caseload is about 5 patients a day now compared to his usual of about 40 patients a day. His practice is struggling right now.

A close friend of mine owns a restaurant and has been struggling (over the last couple of years) with the idea of expanding and building another restaurant. Well last year, he finally decided to build the new restaurant and broke ground on the new restaurant the end of February. Fast forward, their current restaurant is now only doing carryout meals and the new restaurant is too far along to stop construction.

@johneman You know with all of us under social distancing orders, we are going to have to fill up your yard instead of your porch. I know I will be glad when we can all gather and sit on the porch again:)

Just bring your lawn chair a beverage or two of choice and whatever you like to munch on and if the weather holds out, we can have a real good night:cheers::drunk:. My neighbors are up for it but in a driveway and the weather hasn't been to kind to us to do it...:rain: Maybe soon.

A lot of doctor patient visits are being done virtually via various types of video conferencing. I had a sinus infection. Called my doc and we set up a video appointment the next day. It was easy peasy, he prescribed antibiotics and all was good. My wife had a routine follow up visit via video and also worked great. I realize you can only do these for routine , not serious visits but so far it’s worked great for us. I think in the future video visits may become routine.
    Stay safe all.

I have had some issues and since the Covid has been hitting hard, I and the Docs have been doing video as well as teleconference calls. This keeps them and their patients safe and my Doc is seeing (conferencing) about the same numbers. Works pretty good for minor stuff and they still recommend going to the hospital for the serious stuff. Just stay safe and be well folks.

To be honest this does not bother me at all. I'd rather every single person who desperately needs the money get it + a few more. The alternative isn't as attractive. When I think about the $6K pliers for the military and stuff like that, all of a sudden a few bucks going to dead people doesn't seem like such a big thing.

I think that 2020 will be remembered for a long, long, long, long time. We are living in history. We are making history every day by what we do.
Oooh I wish I were closer. Happy Birthday to your wife! Oh and 65 ain't all that. For me anyway; I have a few birthdays that hit me square between the eyes, but 65 wasn't one of them. Just be sure to do the neccesary re Medicare. I'm sure you're all over that!

The Thai restaurant reminded me of a story. We and some friends go over to the local college for their 'cultural event' shows. It's a lot of fune and a great excuse to get out. (In normal times!) We all get season passes, then we call each other and decide stuff and congregate somewhere for dinner before each show. Our neighbor used to participate before she moved away. One time she suggested a Thai place. We went there, and the waitress came, and we started to place our orders. The neighbor had specific questions about each dish; does the such-and-so have this-and-that? Is the whatchama-call-it spicy? How spicy? On she went. Every time she did this the poor waitress had to run back to the kitchen to get the answer. She'd get back, give the answer, and our neighbor would toss her another one. We were looking at one another thinking "I wonder if we will eat tonight!" Finally the waitress came back with the latest answer. Our neighbor said, "I'll have the salad. No dressing."

The meal was awesome - Lynn had Cantonese Lobster and I had a Surf and Turf. We started off with Spring Rolls and an Thai salad. Add a couple of home-made Tanqueray 10 and tonics and life is good.

We got the Medicare thing all squared away - have to wait for a few more weeks to renew my military retiree ID card and go on Tricare For Life to cover my prescriptions. Life is good.

    Good morning Susan, gang,
Off for more firewood this morning, fell a Sugar Pine yesterday AM, nice one, still had brown needles, so still holding lots of water in the wood. Went for a ride on my dirt bike later to check out snow where I went last Sunday to see how it was melting off. Too much snow still, but made my way up the road further. Also, located more trees, one with yellow needles along a road, so that will be really heavy to load if I go back.
Asked a neighbor last night if he could shuttle some horse manure from a neighbors yard to mine with his small Bobcat skid steer later this morning to save my back a little.
    Have a good day all.

Good morning, everyone!! Thanks for the birthday wishes!! We had an awesome meal from Lynn's favorite restaurant last evening - not the same dining experience but we'll head back there for another meal when things finally settle down.

It was in the low 20s here this morning with snow covering the grass. Gone now but we are in for maybe an inch or two again tonight. The good news is that it will melt quickly and it's supposed to hit the mid 60s on Sunday.

    be safe out there!!!
