if i dont start my truck for a few days. when i do start it, it makes this weird noise. and has a terrible smell coming from the exhaust. i dont know how to describe the sound. i dont want to bring it to the dealer because i have no clue what to tell them. and i cant show them unless i leave my truck there for 3 or 4 days then start it haha. any ideas?

i know theres not alot to go on but im having a hard time describing this. i have a 2010 TRD OR with 10000 miles. it kinda sounds like its gunna stall. and the smell. well ive never really smelled anything like it. but its deff coming from the exhaust. its not a gas smell. i dont know a ton about cars. its just weird that its only after it doesn't run for a few days. next time i let it sit for a few days ill video me starting it maybe that will help. so video will follow maybe this weekend

Not an expert, but maybe you're using bad gas and then when it sits, whatever is in the gas settles?

+1 I bet somebody has lodged there breakfast in your tailpipe. Other than that the only other thing that I have seen is when somebody puts sugar / syrup in your fuel tank. That will make it run like ass, and smell funky.

    Goog luck!

Sounds like its your cat. converters, or your MAF sensor. Maybe it doesnt agree with whatever kind of gas your putting in...has it always made the smell since new or did it just start after filling up on some cheapo gas?

Yeah so im guessing grocery store brands arent as good as "top tier" brands.

My dad uses the cheapo grocery store gasoline for his camry and we do the same for our sienna. The benz and my truck only use Shell's V-Power (93 octane).

Camry and van smell terrible when they first start. My truck does not.

I think that sulfur smell is from the cat. I think that smell means the cat is working, it get's really hot to help burn unused vapors and anything else Al Gore says it needs to burn. P.S. I actually like Al Gore
