I had it scheduled when I got my taxes done. No point in pushing it off, it’s gotta get paid eventually.

Yes and no. It all comes down to location. 100k in NY and 100k in Arkansas is a while different way of life hahaha. I’m comfortable now but there is a reason why so many of my coworkers move to the south after retirement.

I think it's got to be area dependent. I work for a public school district and only around 5-6 people out of about 300 employees clear 100k. When you look at AGI, I expect only two would still be in six-figure territory.

I haven't received anything yet but since I have worked the same hours through this hole thing without added hazards to my health. If i don't get anything I won't be heart broken. If I do its going towards my honeymoon road trip to see the northern lights and most of new england

That MIGHT be a $200k home, in a VERY nice neighborhood (you'd have a "little" house comparatively), in my neck of the woods. More realistically, it would have a bigger yard at least here. Sad.

To that end, I live somewhere I won't get pee pee slapped if I drive to another city/state, under the current restrictions and guidelines.

My company has been deemed essential. I got a sum of useless value paper deposited in my magical mystery wallet. Filed single.

    It's buying me a long-awaited new rear 3rd member.

Money? I want free money. I mean... if I'm going to help pay to give people money, I might as well take some of it too.

No such thing as a free lunch.

It's regional. Sadly, 100k is basically the middle class marker in the greater seattle area.

It's crazy. There are literally no habitable houses within a 70 mile stretch from tacoma to seattle. I feel bad for anyone trying to buy their first home here. That being said, there's no restrictions on traveling to other cities or states.

Here's a screen shot from redfin for houses under 200k.
